Donner's Debriefing
"Very solid day two with Bliss and Lea winning. So far, we had eight women over nine events make our all-time top 10 lists, plus a facility record for Bliss. Fowler made it in two events with the hammer and shot put. I like how our women's team is really starting to jell."
Evelyn Bliss shattered the West Fields facility javelin record for the second consecutive season. The All-American won the event, demolishing the competition by throwing 54.32m (178-2) and surpassing her 2024 facility breaking mark of 52.08m (170-10). 178-2 represents her best mark in collegiate competition.
"Today was a great day!" said Bliss. "I brought more speed into my approaches, which I have been working on. Hitting a 54 was a great confidence booster looking towards Leagues in a few weeks and NCAA First Round."
"It was a great day for throwing far, and the javelin ladies were all locked in," said throws coach Ryan Protzman. "Evie looks great on the runway and has put some decent technical throws together. There is still work to be done at the end of the runway, but happy with her start to the season."
Alexandra Lea has been a bolt of lightning on the track, and the freshman continued her sizzling start. She easily won the 200-meter dash, logging 24.06. The time ranked second behind the indomitable Meghan Quinn on the Bucknell top-ten list. Lea now has five spots on Bucknell's top-ten lists.
Elizabeth Bryant claimed sole possession of sixth-place in Bucknell history for the pole vault. The junior vaulter cleared 12-2 to earn second place in the pole vault invite. Â
The throws group continued its triumphs with Madison Fowler's fourth-place finish in the hammer throw. The freshman phenom's mark of 53.97 (177-0) ranked sixth in Bucknell history.
Anna Posh made history in the 400-meter dash. The senior runner finished sixth, running 56.29. The time ranked tenth in Bucknell history.
Noelani Sadler, holder of the school record in the 100-meter hurdles, placed ninth in the event, running 14.36.
Madeline Lehker sits ninth in the heptathlon. A first-place finish in the high jump powered her finish. Â
The "A" Team of Amanda Agambire, Lea, Alexa Goll, and Sadler placed tenth in the 4x100-meter relay. They worked together for a time of 48.55.
Two more facility records occurred when Army's Emily Fink threw 67.19m (220-5) in the hammer throw, breaking the old mark of 203-10 set by N. Clunis (Unattached) in 2022, and when Avery Hilliard (Cornell) cleared 13-9.75, shattering Penn State's Zurich's 12-11.50 mark created in 2023.
The Bison Outdoor Classic concludes tomorrow with the multi-events.
