Brooke Popella went 5 for 6 with three RBI on the afternoon as the number four hitter directed a rejuvenated Bucknell attack. The Bison's two wins kept the team alive for a Patriot League tournament bid.
Game One Recap
Roukey started in the circle and the ace displayed the form that made her a 2024 Second Team All-Patriot League honoree. She hurled her eighth career shutout - eighth in Bison history. Lafayette was helpless against the senior pitcher, gathering only five scattered hits and three walks.
Shea Malone collared a diving web gem in the first inning.
Bucknell set the tone in the first inning. Haley Speicher slapped a single past the drawn-in infield and MaKenzie Hilling laid down a perfect sacrifice bunt advancing the speedy leadoff hitter to second. Marissa Rapino's grounder advanced Speicher to third base. Popella doubled down the left field line, scoring Speicher.THE SAY SHEA KID STRIKES AGAIN!

The Bison tabbed another run in the second inning. Molly Lawson walked with one out. Bella Radican laid down an attempted sacrifice bunt and ended up beating out the throw. Angelina Seropian hit the ball to the third baseman, who touched third base to force out Lawson, but her throw went wild, and Radican ended up stationed at the hot corner. Bucknell called for a double steal. Seropian drew the throw and Radican scampered home for the second run.
Lafayette's best scoring opportunity arrived in the fifth inning. With one out, Olivia Catalina singled, Mary Grace O'Neill singled, and Caroline Hall walked to load the bases. Roukey remained stable and induced a pop-up and a foul out to negate the threat.
O'Neill singled with two outs in the seventh inning but Hall's fly out to right field ended the game and gave Bucknell's its first Patriot League victory.
Game Two Recap
Jones started and carried a no-hitter into the third inning.
The Bison scored two runs in the second inning capitalizing on two Lafayette errors. With one out, Lawson reached on an error by Katie Harrington and then advanced to second on a passed ball. Radican worked a walk. Seropian reached on a second Harrington error, loading the bases. Speicher slashed a Texas Leaguer single over the shortshop's head for an RBI. Jones helped her cause with a sacrifice fly for the 2-0 lead.
Lafayette, in the next inning, threatened to tie the game. Jocelyn O'Keeffe walked and O'Neill smashed a double to center field. Jones removed the chance with a strikeout and pop-up.
Bucknell used the momentum to score two runs in its third frame. Popella singled and Kate Dailor pinch ran for the sophomore slugger. Hilling doubled to left center, advancing Dailor to third. A wild pitch escaped but the Lafayette catcher, Maggie Klug, received a fortuitous bounce and tagged out an aggressive Dailor. Lawson delivered a two-out RBI single scoring Hilling. Radican singled up the third base line. Seropian slugged a single to right center, scoring Lawson for a 4-0 lead.
The Bison tallied a fifth run in the fourth inning. Jones bunted for a hit and Rapino advanced her to second. Popella slammed an RBI single to score Jones.
The Leopards finally scored on the Sunday afternoon in the fifth stanza. Three straight singles scored a run and chased Jones from the circle. Madison Roukey received the firewoman duty. Hall greeted her with a bases-loading single. Roukey responded by inducing a foul-out, line-out, and a swinging strikeout.
The Bison put the game away with three insurance runs in the sixth inning. Speicher singled and Jones's single advanced her to third base. Jones swiped second. Rapino walked to load the bases. Popella battled with multiple foul bases and eventually hit a sacrifice fly. Shea Malone belted a two-run single, giving Bucknell an 8-1 advantage.MADDIE THE BADDIE WITH THE CLUTCH STRIKEOUT!@WatchESPN | @PatriotLeagueHQ #rayBucknell | #Team47 pic.twitter.com/fdxNOAA3W3

Lafayette did not yield easily. After a grounder, two singles placed Leopards on first and third. The Leopards called for a double steal and the Bison gladly traded the run for the second out. A Harrington double proved meaningless as Roukey induced the final out.
