Last Year's Bison Outdoor Classic
- The Bison won four events, all by the throws group, and compiled numerous top ten finishes at the 2024 edition.Â
- Evelyn Bliss dominated in the javelin throw. The thrower won gold, tossing the instrument 170-10 feet. Furthermore, her toss beat the West Fields facility record (170-6) set back in 2022 by P. Dumont of Team Quebec.Â
- Justley Sharp continued her impressive freshman season winning two events in the discus and shot put. In the discus throw, Sharp threw an impressive 156-3, improving upon her then fourth-best distance in Bucknell history. For the shot put, Sharp's 48-9 ½ just missed tying her then personal best of 48-9 ¾. Sharp now owns the school record in both events.Â
- Madison McGloin picked up first in the hammer throw. The senior thrower's 177-7 mark moved her to fifth all-time in Bison history.
- Abby Eisold won bronze in the heptathlon with 4688 points. Her placement was powered by winning second in the long jump and third in the javelin throw.Â
- The 4x100-meter relay quartet of Amanda Agambire, Meghan Quinn, Lila Gaughan, and Karen Hull finished fourth with a time of 46.57. Their speed ranks second in Bucknell history. Hull and Quinn already had two spots on the list, including the all-time mark. Gaughan is also present in another top-ten quartet.Â
- Bucknell repeated as Colonial Relays champions, tallying 149 points, 25 ahead of second-place Virginia. Bucknell won five events.
- Noelani Sadler headlined by setting the school record in the 100-meter hurdles. Sadler nearly broke the record at the Lafayette Invitational, and last Saturday, the rookie achieved her objective by racing 14.13 to edge Catherine Trentacoste's 14.14 achieved in 2007. Her time placed Sadler fifth in a crowded and deep field. Sadler took home Bison of the Week for her historic mark.Â
- Bucknell's speedy freshman, Alexandra Lea, already etched her name in the Bucknell record books, and she added her signature to another list with a 54.74 performance in the 400-meter dash. The time won the event and slotted second in Bucknell history, only 0.07 seconds away from Jess Bridle's mark set in 2016. Lea won Patriot League Women's Rookie of the Week.Â
- Justley Sharp made her outdoor debut and the sophomore star lived up to her press clippings with first place finishes in the discus and shot put. The performance won Sharp the Women's Field MVP with 20 points. Her shot put mark of 14.47m (47-5.50) easily conquered the event, as did her discus toss of 45.16m (148-1.75).Â
- Evelyn Bliss, Bucknell's star javelineer, repeated as the event winner for the second straight year at the Colonial Relays. Bliss threw 49.81m (163-5), easily taking home gold. Â
- Lauren Trapani capped the night, winning the 10,000-meter run – the day's final event. The senior distance runner logged 36:50.75.
- The Bison quartet of Lomberto, Ella Vogel, Regan McGrath, and Jenna Wright created history in the rarely-run sprints medley relay. Their time of 4:05.84 finished second and ranked third in Bucknell history.Â
The Bison remain at home next weekend for the Bucknell Team Classic on April 19.
