LEWISBURG, Pa.- Bucknell women's track & field added another award to its constellation with hurdler Noelani Sadler receiving Patriot League Women's Track & Field Rookie of the Week for her star-studded performance at the Lafayette Invitational.Â
"Noelani continues to work hard and develop as an athlete," said sprints and hurdles coach Richard Alexander. "She is only beginning to scratch the surface and I am excited to see where her future in the Orange & Blue goes."
The freshman phenom dashed 14.15 in the 100-meter hurdles, easily winning the event by 0.52 seconds. Sadler's time moved her into second place in Bucknell history, only a tantalizingly 0.01 seconds away from tying Catherine Trentacoste's school record of 14.14 set in 2007.
She anchored the 4x100-meter relay team of Amanda Agambire, Alex Lea, Alexa Goll, and herself to a second-place finish. The quartet achieved a season-best time of 47.94.Â
The Miami native has shone like the sun since her arrival in the fall. She broke into the indoor record book with her 8.70 time in the 60-meter hurdles - a mark only 0.02 seconds away from tying Kafilat Oladiran's school record of 8.68 set in 2018.Â
Sadler and the Bison head to Williamsburg, Virginia this weekend for the Colonial Relays on April 4-5.Â
