BUCKNELL 2025-26 MEN'S TENNIS SCHEDULE
LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell men's tennis coach Jason Cohen has announced a challenging 2026 spring schedule as his squad looks to defend its Patriot League championship. Twenty-two dual matches are on the slate, starting on Jan. 16 with a trip to New York City to face Ivy League power Columbia.
Â
The Lions have advanced to the NCAA Tournament quarterfinals in each of the last two seasons, and they feature the nation's No. 1-ranked player in Michael Zheng, who just won his second straight NCAA singles championship. He is a potential opponent for Bucknell senior Amar Tahirovic, who is No. 43 in the ITA fall rankings and played well against top competition in the fall.
Â
The Bison will host Mount St. Mary's, Saint Francis, Delaware, Mercyhurst, Temple, Georgetown, Johns Hopkins, and Duquesne in January and February at the Central PA Tennis Center in South Williamsport, with trips to Binghamton, Saint Joseph's, and Drexel mixed in.
Â
The squad begins the month of March with a tough test at NJIT, which went 18-4 last season and advanced to the Southland Conference Tournament final. That will be followed by a Spring Break Trip to Florida, where the Bison will face Division II power Rollins along with Atlantic Sun contenders Stetson and Florida Gulf Coast. The Hatters went 17-5 and made it to the A-Sun Tournament final last spring.
Â
In Patriot League play at the end of the regular season, Bucknell will host Army and Colgate and travel to Loyola, Navy, and Lehigh. A rematch of last year's Patriot League Tournament final between the Bison and Midshipmen will take place on Apr. 11 in Annapolis.
Â
The Bison wrap up the regular season at Lehigh on Apr. 18, and then they will head right back to Bethlehem the following week for the Patriot League Tournament. The first-round match will be played on Thursday, Apr. 23, with the finals set for Sunday, Apr. 26.
Â
Bucknell returns virtually its entire roster from last year's championship squad, including Patriot League Player of the Year Tahirovic and PL Tournament MVP and First Team All-PL selection Adam Stavrakas. Tahirovic went 11-4 in the fall, playing in three major ITA tournaments. He and classmate Brendan McDonald came one win away from an NCAA double bid with a big run at the ITA Conference Masters in San Diego.
