LEWISBURG, Pa. – Sophomore Drew Roskos was named the Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year and senior Jackson Sullivan was named the Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year as four other Bison were named to the All-League teams announced by the league office on Friday.
Roskos and Sullivan were joined by seniors Jimmy Pombor and Freddie Lapworth on the First Team. Junior Jack Lucas was named to the Second Team and David Krumov was named to the Third Team.
Bucknell's six All-Patriot League honorees are the most since 2009 and its four First Team selections are the most since 2003 when the Bison had five First Team selections. Roskos and Sullivan are both the fifth players in program history to receive their respective awards. Bucknell previously earned two major awards in one season in 2003, 2005 and 2024.Â
This is the first major award for Roskos and Sullivan, and it is their first time as all-Patriot League selections. Pombor and Lapworth repeat as two-time First Team honorees and Lucas and Krumov are first-time selections.
Roskos takes home the Offensive Player of the Year award after leading the Patriot League with seven goals and tying for a league-high 15 points. Roskos was an attacking threat in every match as he played 1,225 minutes, finishing second in the league with 2.76 shots per game and 1.29 shots on goal per game. This season, he posted a .468 shot accuracy.
The Delran, New Jersey native went the first five matches without a goal before scoring seven goals in the last 12 matches. He scored two game-winning goals against Holy Cross and Navy. His goal against Holy Cross came in the 86th minute and his goal against Navy came in the fourth minute of action.
He scored a career-high two goals against Saint Francis, and he also provided an assist in the match for a career-high five points in a single game. Against Army, he tallied a career-high seven shots and four shots on target. He also netted goals against Mount St. Mary's, Lafayette and Saint Joseph's.
Off of the score sheet, Roskos is known for his relentless pressing and his hold-up play on the ball. Roskos is excellent at winning possession and wreaking havoc on opponents back lines.
Jackson Sullivan also earned his first All-PL honors after a stellar season on the back line. The Bucknell defense struggled early against tough non-conference opponents as the Bison allowed 10 goals through the first five matches.
The Bison defense turned it around, only allowing eight goals over the final 12 matches. In league action, the Bison posted seven shutouts. Bucknell only allowed five goals in league play, all of which came against Lehigh and Boston University. Overall, the Bison only allowed 4.24 shots on goal per game.
The three-year captain also scored five points this season on two goals and on assist. He scored his first career goal on a penalty kick against Maryland, the current No. 1 team in the nation, as the Bison erased a two-goal deficit to earn a draw. He also scored the match-winning goal and provided an assist against Saint Francis.
Lapworth earns his second consecutive First Team All-PL selection after coming into the season as the PL Preseason Goalkeeper of the Year. Despite the tough start in non-conference action, the Banbury, England native ultimately kept six shutouts.
In league action, Lapworth allowed a league-low five goals and his .800 save percentage ranked third in the league. His six shutouts all came in the PL to lead all teams in shutouts.
Pombor collects his second consecutive First Team selection, and he made the team in each of his two years at Bucknell after transferring from Lock Haven in 2024.
The Williamsport, Pennsylvania native is a key distributor in the midfield for the Bison, and an excellent defensive player in front of Bucknell's back line. Playing in all but two matches since his arrival, Pombor has been essential in all phases of the game for the Bison.
His defining moment this season came against Army as he scored the match-winning goal with just 30 seconds left on the clock. The goal lifted the Bison to a 1-0 win and an important three points towards securing a PL tournament berth.
Lucas grabs his first All-PL selection as the junior earned a spot on the Second Team. Lucas played 1,165 minutes as a right wing back, scoring 13 points on five goals and three assists. The Leawood, Kansas native is asked a lot on the attack and defensively up and down the wing.
He got off to a tear in non-conference action, getting on the score sheet in each of Bucknell's first five matches. He opened the season with a match-winning goal against No. 23 Hofstra as the Bison pulled off a comeback victory.
He scored the game tying goal in Bucknell's 3-2 win over St. Bonaventure and provided the tying assist to Ben Sheffield in the 2-2 draw at Maryland. He scored a long-range goal against George Mason, and netted the match-winner against Old Dominion. He matched his career-high in points with a goal and an assist against Boston University.
Krumov is also a first-time All-PL selection, making his mark on the Third Team. Krumov played 1,193 minutes alongside Pombor in the defensive midfield. The defensive midfield duo is vital to Bucknell's style in holding possession and creating attacking opportunities.
The Dallas, Texas native provided three assists and two of them came on match-winning goals against Saint Francis and Holy Cross. Against Saint Francis, he delivered the corner that found the head of Sullivan as the Bison overcame a 2-0 deficit. He also had an assist on Roskos' 86th minute goal in a 1-0 win over Holy Cross.
Bucknell earned the fifth seed in the Patriot League tournament as the Bison head to Boston U. for a quarterfinal matchup at Nickerson Field on Saturday at 1 p.m. Boston U. previously handed Bucknell one of its two league losses in a 3-2 thriller which saw all five goals scored in the first half.Â
