LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell men's soccer team was bested by Old Dominion 3-0 on Sunday at ODU Soccer Stadium.

Old Dominion (5-0) remains unbeaten to begin the season and have now outscored its opponents 20-5 through five games. Bucknell (0-4) is still looking for its first win with Patriot League action beginning next weekend.

The Monarchs used three late goals in the second half to put Bucknell away. After more than an hour of a deadlock, Ludovico Vicini found the back of the net on an olimpico. He swung in his corner, and despite a 6-foot-5 Thomas Yerbury in goal, the ball was perfectly placed to give ODU the 1-0 advantage.

Bucknell went down to 10 men in the 78th minute as Kasper Piela was sent off for a second yellow card. The Monarchs doubled their lead with almost instantly as Lewis Rourke finished off a good passing sequence by ODU. Rourke scored twice against the Bison in 2025.

Micah Wayland got to the end of third goal in the 87th minute to close out the match. As the Bison pressed forward, David Chapman sent a great ball over the top from the back line. The ball found Wayland who calmly took a touch and polished it off with a clean finish.

Bucknell had five shots in the match with only two on target as ODU goalkeeper Alexander Aguilar was not challenged too much in goal. Bucknell's best opportunity came early in the first half as Viktor Permyashkin hit the right upright from a tight angle.

Despite allowing a trio of goals, Yerbury made six saves in the match as the sophomore was under pressure throughout the match.

Bucknell saw the return of Patriot League Preseason Defender and Forward of the Year, Jack Lucas and Drew Roskos. Lucas played 43 minutes in his return and Roskos played 61 minutes. Lucas made a huge play just before the opening goal. Old Dominion fired two shots that beat Yerbury in a scramble, but Lucas worked back to the goal line to make a double save and keep the match scoreless at the time.

Bucknell turns its attention to league action as the reigning Patriot League Champions come to Lewisburg for a 6 p.m. kickoff on Saturday at Emmitt Field.
