LEWISBURG, Pa.- Head coach Angela Stackhouse completed her 2026 coaching staff with the hiring of Joelle Snyder on Monday. Snyder brings valuable collegiate experience in coaching and playing to the Bucknell Softball program with recruiting ties to the Philadelphia area.Â
"Jo has a certain competitiveness and grit about her that is a rare find!" raved Stackhouse. "She had tremendous success as an athlete at both Mansfield University and Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She brings coaching experience at both the collegiate level and the private sector. Her recruiting ties will help elevate the quality of future athletes and her hitting and outfield experience will be put to use immediately."Â
Snyder enjoyed a successful career at Mansfield University from 2017-2021, where she was recruited to by Coach Stackhouse. At Mansfield, she has became one of the most feared hitters in the circuit, batting a career .385 (third in program history) with 124 hits, 26 doubles, 13 triples (second in program history), eight home runs, 74 RBIs, and 200 total bases. She hit a high-water mark .435 in 2019 - third-best in Mansfield history.Â
She spent her COVID-19 season at Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2022. She immediately impacted the traditional PSAC powerhouse, hitting .344 with 44 hits, nine doubles, and 20 stolen bases. Her batting average and stolen bases led the team.Â
The shortstop/outfielder collected four All-PSAC selections (2018, 2019, 2021, and 2022), was a two-time Mansfield Athlete of the Year winner (2019 & 2021), and was a three-time Mansfield Softball Player of the Year recipient (2018, 2019, and 2021).Â
"I am grateful that Coach Stackhouse gave me the opportunity to contribute to the softball coaching staff and Bucknell Athletics," said Snyder. "I am excited to lead and develop players at the next level."
Upon graduation, Snyder has worked as a softball ambassador for Dick's Sporting Goods and a softball instructor for All Star Sports Academy. She served as an assistant coach for Thomas Jefferson University during the 2024 campaign.Â
A resident of nearby Dornsife, Pennsylvania, Snyder graduated from Mansfield in 2021 with a Bachelor's of Science in General Biology and from IUP in 2022 with a Master's of Science in Sport Science/Exercise Science.Â
"I am excited to get Jo settled and to complete the coaching staff for the 2026 season and beyond," said Stackhouse. "Her work ethic, competitiveness and winning mentality will have a prompt impact on team culture as we continue to redefine who we are as a program."
Bucknell Softball will announce its exciting and national 2026 schedule in the upcoming weeks.Â
