Tahirovic Falls in Quarterfinals of ITA Northeast Regional

PRINCETON, N.J. -- Bucknell senior Amar Tahirovic saw his run at the ITA Northeast Regional come to an end on Monday. After winning three straight matches to reach the quarterfinals, Tahirovic fell 6-3, 6-2 to Penn's Manfredi Graziani, an All-Ivy League honoree who has yet to drop a set in the tournament.
Tahirovic finished two wins shy of an automatic bid to next month's NCAA Individual Championships in Lake Nona, Fla. He will have another chance to qualify for NCAAs through the ITA Conference Masters. The Patriot League qualifier is this weekend at Lehigh, and if Tahirovic repeats as the PL champion, he will head to San Diego for the Conference Masters on Nov. 6-9. Four singles players and three doubles teams will earn NCAA bids from that event.
