Tahirovic Rolls into Quarterfinals at ITA Regionals

RESULTS

PRINCETON, N.J. – Amar Tahirovic is now two wins away from a berth in the NCAA Championships. The Bison senior, No. 43 in the national singles rankings, cruised to a 6-2, 6-2 win over Columbia's Aditya Govila on Sunday to advance to the quarterfinals of the ITA Northeast Regional at Princeton.

Tahirovic earned a bye into the main singles draw, and he has now beaten opponents from Fordham, Penn State, and Columbia to earn a spot in the final eight. He will next play Penn's Manfredi Graziani in the quarters on Monday. The two finalists earn automatic bids to the NCAA Championships.

Manfredi was a 6-1, 7-6 (7-4) winner over Louis Keller of Monmouth on Sunday. The Florence, Italy native is a senior with more than 100 combined singles and doubles wins in his career. He was a Second Team All-Ivy honoree last season. Tahirovic and Graziani will be meeting for the first time.
