LEWISBURG, Pa.- Bucknell field hockey enjoyed a banner weekend defeating rival Boston 4-0 for a pivotal Patriot League victory and the conference voters took notice, awarding the Bison with three weekly honors as announced Monday. Sarah Althouse won Goalkeeper of the Week, Reese Czajkowski earned Offensive Player of the Week and Kira Leclercq received Defensive Player of the Week. Leclercq also was designated Bucknell Athletics' Bison of the Week for the first time in her career.Â
Althouse has been one of the Patriot League's best goalkeepers in 2025 and the junior reinforced her standing on Saturday, collecting six saves and shutting out a potent Boston offense. The Terriers fired 16 shots, including ten in the first half, but the Bison goalie refused to allow entry. Althouse leads the conference in save percentage (.785) and sits second in shutouts (4). Althouse has now won Goalkeeper of the Week in every season of her career.Â
Czajkowski has quickly become one of the circuit's best forwards. The sophomore led the Bison attack that scored four goals with her aggressive and daring play. She set up Bucknell's third tally with a perfect crossing pass to Katie Lintz, who tapped up the close range chance. Czajkowski placed the cherry on top by scoring the fourth goal off a long-distance rocket. Her seven goals are tied for the team lead and tied for fourth in the loop. This is Czajkowski's first Offensive Player of the Week award. She earned Rookie of the Week once honors in 2024.Â
Leclercq, Bucknell's steadfast field general, maintained her top-notch offensive and defensive play on Saturday by scoring a goal and notching a defensive save. She gave Bucknell a 2-0 lead by firing a laser off a penalty corner opportunity. Her defensive save in the fourth period preserved the shutout. Leclercq's seven goals tie her with Czajkowski for the team lead and fourth in the circuit. Her three defensive saves are tied for second in the Patriot League. Leclercq has earned Defensive Player of the Week thrice times in 2025 and seventh instances in her distinguished career.Â
Bucknell faces American at the Eagles' home nest this Friday for the chance to move into a tie for first place.Â
