Water Polo Enlists in VMI Invite

LEWISBURG, Pa.- The Bucknell women's water polo team heads south to Lexington, Virginia to participate in the VMI Invite. The Bison will face a diverse slate of foes, including the University of Toronto. All games will be streamed on ESPN+.

The Inside "Herd" on the Bison

Bucknell opened the 2025 season with a 2-1 weekend at the Princeton Invite. The Bison fell to No. 22 Wagner 17-10 but rallied to defeat Siena 9-8 and nipped La Salle 10-9 in overtime.
It was the Orange & Blue's first winning weekend since 2022 as well as the program's first time above .500 since the 2022 campaign.
Bucknell focused on recruiting depth and the efforts paid off. Nine different players scored the goals against Siena.
Freshman Olivia Hopper leads the team with five goals.

Opposition Overview

Mount St. Mary's sits at 3-1 after defeating fellow Catholic schools Gannon, Iona, and Mercyhurst and losing to host school Villanova at the Villanova Weekend. The Mountaineers went 15-15 last year.
The Toronto Varsity Blues have yet to play a game in 2025. They went 13-0 last year.
Gannon is 0-4 after losing to Iona, Mercyhurst, Mount St. Mary's, and Villanova last weekend. They finished 10-12 in 2024.
McKendree went 2-2 at the Hoosier Classic, losing twice to ranked teams No. 11 Indiana and No. 18 UC Santa Barbara but defeating unranked foes Carthage College and California Merced.
