LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell senior attacker Allie Boyce was one of 16 players named to the Preseason All-Patriot League Women's Lacrosse Team on Thursday. Boyce, a native of Falls Church, Va., earned Second Team All-PL honors in each of the last two seasons, and she enters 2025 already ranked among Bucknell's top-10 all-time scorers.
Boyce has led the team in goals in each of her first three seasons at Bucknell. She tallied 36 as a rookie in 2022, and then she recorded just the second 50-goal season in team history as a sophomore. Last year she scored 30 goals, and for the second straight season led the entire nation in free-position shooting percentage (.813). Boyce led all Division I players in overall shooting percentage (.649) in 2023, and last year she ranked second nationally while upping her accuracy to .667.
Boyce holds a share of the Bucknell single-game record with 10 goals against American in 2023, and her 50 goals that year were just two shy of Sue Gray's record that has stood since 1984. With 136 career points, Boyce is just seven away from moving into the top-10 in school history in that category.
Bucknell was picked seventh in the preseason poll, six points behind sixth-place American. The top six teams qualify for the Patriot League Tournament. Perennial champion Loyola was once again selected as the preseason favorite, with second-place Navy garnering three first-place votes. Army, Holy Cross, Lehigh, American, Bucknell, Colgate, Boston University, and Lafayette round out the poll.
Loyola seniors swept the four preseason major awards: Georgia Latch (Attacker of the Year), Chase Boyle (Midfielder of the Year), Lily Osborne (Defensive Player of the Year), and Lauren Spence (Goalkeeper of the Year).
The Bison open the 2025 season on Wednesday, Feb. 12 at Penn State. The hope opener will be three days later against Rider. With one exception, Bucknell will be playing its home games at Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium this season.
