UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.- After a month's layoff from the Bison Opener, the Bucknell men's track & field team shook off some rust and enjoyed a nice afternoon at the Nittany Lion Challenge.

Donner's Debriefing
"This is always an interesting meet because we are coming off a five-week layoff from our first meet in which the athletes were home for three weeks. I like to look at the results from one year ago today when evaluating development and it seems for the most part that our men are well ahead of where we were one year ago which excites me for the future. We have our first scored meet of the year next week as we host the Gulden Invitational and we should see some pretty good improvement."
Recap
Tristan An generated some early-season excitement with a second-place finish (6-8.75) in the high jump, nearly matching his career high of 6-9.
Freshman CJ Simbiri broke into the Bucknell top ten in the triple jump at the Bison Opener and the rookie kept his momentum with a fourth-place finish (47-1.75) in the same event today.
Freshman Gabriel Pecaitis grabbed fourth (14-11) in the pole vault.
Wade Shomper, after setting the school record in the shot put at the Bison Opener, finished seventh (54-1.25) in the same event. He was the fourth-highest collegiate thrower.
The Bucknell "B" team of Lubeski, Jelinek, Brandon Foust, and Colby Belczyk raced at 3:21.00 to finish sixth in the 4x400-meter relay.
Brian Scotto obtained seventh place (8.68) in the 60-meter hurdles.
Preston Lubeski finished ninth (50.48) in the 400-meter dash.
