
Men's Track & Field Restarts 2024-25 Campaign at the Nittany Lion Challenge

LEWISBURG, Pa.- The Bucknell men's track & field team returns to competition after the Christmas break by making the short trip down Route 45 to Penn State for the annual Nittany Lion Challenge. It will be Bucknell's first action since the Bison Opener on Dec. 6-7.Â

Where: Multi-Sport Facility & Horace Ashenfelter III Indoor Track-University Park, Pa.
When: Saturday, January 18, 2025 at 10 a.m.

Last Time Out (Bison Opener)
- The Bison won five events to open the season and Wade Shomper set a school record.
- Shomper took home third place in the shot put and set the new Bucknell standard with a 56-8.50 toss.Â
- Brian Scotto ran 8.03 in the 60-meter hurdles for second in Bison history.Â
- CJ Simbiri debuted on the collegiate stage by winning the triple jump with his mark of 48-2.75.
- Colby Belczyk picked up the win in the 800-meter run racing 1:55.02 winning the event by nearly two seconds.Â
- Hayden Singer set a personal record while winning the mile run leading the field by three seconds with a time of 4:22.17.Â
- David Carillo collected a dominant win in the 3000-meter run by finishing in 8:57.44. The Orange & Blue runner had a lead of nearly 40 seconds.Â
- Shomper won Bison of the Week on Dec. 10 for his prowess at the competition.Â
