Women’s Golf Finishes Third at Bucknell Invitational

RESULTS
LEWISBURG, Pa. – Paced by a top-10 finish from sophomore Nicole Yun, the Bucknell women's golf team opened up its 2024-25 season with a third-place finish in a field of 13 teams at the Bucknell Invitational. The 54-hole event wrapped up Sunday at the Bucknell Golf Club, and the Bison finished with a 308 team score to close out a solid opening weekend.
Bucknell's 911 total (299-304-308) trailed only Penn (874) and Lehigh (906), while the Bison edged fourth-place Towson by five strokes.
Yun was the low Bison for the second straight day with a 5-over-par 75. She carded 74 and 73 earlier in the weekend and finished alone in seventh place individually with a 222 total. Penn's Debby Chang was the medalist with at 7-over 217. Teammate Bridget O'Keefe was the runner-up at 219.
Three other Bison finished in the top 20, including indie Tara Thomas, who shot 71-79-75 to finish 16th. Freshman Sophia Bardunias carded her third straight 76 to place 17th, and Paige Richter tied for 18th after rounds of 73-79-78.
Lila Smith closed with a 79 after starting 76-76 to finish T-22nd, and Katherine Vice posted rounds of 78-81-80 in a T-34th finish.
Next up for Bucknell is the Battle at the Creek, hosted by Sacred Heart at Kings Creek Country Club in Rehoboth Beach, Del., on Sept. 16-17.
