About the Bison

Bucknell heads to Rehoboth Beach for its second tournament of the season on Monday and Tuesday. Sacred Heart is the tournament host, and the Bison are one of 10 teams in the field at Kings Creek.
The Bison will only have four players in the lineup this week: Senior Tara Thomas, junior Paige Richter, and freshmen Sophia Bardunias and Katrina von Behren.
Bucknell made its season debut at its home invitational last week and finished third out of 13 teams with team scores of 299-304-308.
Nicole Yun was the low Bison with a seventh-place finish with scores of 74-73-75. Thomas (16th, 73-79-75), Bardunias (17th, 76-76-76), and Richter (T-18th, 73-79-78) all finished in the top 20.
Richter led the Bison with a 77.7 scoring average in 2023-24. She posted four top-10 finishes, including a seventh-place showing at the Patriot League Championship and a third-place effort at the SMSU Spring Classic in Arizona. Richter is a two-time All-Patriot League honoree.
Yun (79.4), Lila Smith (79.5), and Katherine Vice (80.0) also return after posting 80-or-better averages as rookies last season.

The Bison at Kings Creek CC

Bucknell played a 54-hole tournament at Kings Creek last fall, finishing T-4th in a 14-team field. The Bison posted rounds of 311-304-309 and tied with LIU for fourth. Howard won the team title by 13 shots over Sacred Heart, with Lehigh well back in third.
Richter had a good week, shooting 74-75-74 in a 10th-place finish. She is the only Bison in this week's lineup who played here last year.

Next Up

Bucknell returns to Youngstown State's Roseann Schwartz Invitational at Mill Creek GC on Sept. 22-23. The Bison finished fourth in this event last season.
