LEWISBURG, Pa.- The Bucknell Bison women's basketball team led by head coach Trevor Woodruff named senior forward/guard Isabella King as captain for the upcoming 2024-25 season.
It's an honor to be named captain," said King. "I'm really excited to use my experience to help this year's team. We have a lot of new players with a lot of potential. I'm looking forward to this season, it's going to be an exciting year!"
Woodruff commented on her admirable qualities, "Bella has been a consistent and loyal member of our program. This season we are expecting her to become a leading voice, both on and off the floor, and elevate those around her. I'm excited to see what she does in this well-deserved role."
King has been a constant starter and Bucknell's most prominent sharpshooter from three-point range in her three seasons with the Bison. The senior sits at 100 made three-pointers in 87 career games, ranking 11th in Orange & Blue history. She should enter the top ten after the first month of the season.
Career-stat-wise, King averages 6.08 points per game and 2.71 rebounds per game. Her 41% from the field ranks as one of the best among returning Bison. The senior owns an 81.7% (67-of-82) mark at the free-throw line. King has served as a distributor with 77 assists and has collected 52 steals.
In 2023-24, she set career single-season highs in blocks (9), free throws made (38), games played (31), and steals (22).
King leads the Bison onto the court when Bucknell opens the season in November.
