#7 Bucknell Hosts #10 Colgate in Patriot League First Round Game

LEWISBURG, Pa. — Bucknell women's basketball is set to host Colgate in the first round of the Patriot League Women's Basketball Championships in Sojka Pavilion on Saturday, March 7 at 4 p.m. with the winner advancing to the quarterfinal round and heading to Holy Cross for a Monday night contest.
The Bison lead the overall series 59-25 and are currently on a five game winning streak over the Raiders. The last time these two teams met was in Hamilton where Bucknell defeated Colgate 50-41. The last time the Raiders defeated the Bison was back in 2024 and Colgate has only seen six road wins against Bucknell in program history. This will be the 85th meeting between the two teams since they first met in 1983.

- The Raiders come into the first round of the Patriot League Championships as the No. 10 seed with a 6-23 overall record and a 2-16 conference record.

- In its last time out, Colgate women's basketball fell to Lafayette 66-55 in its regular season finale at the Kirby Sports Center. In an early back-and-forth battle, the halftime score had Lafayette up 35-33. Klag tied the game at 35 with a layup to open the third quarter, and Meabon followed with a jumper to give Colgate a 37-35 lead. During a four-minute stretch, the teams exchanged six lead changes before Lafayette used an 8-0 run to regain control. Lafayette matched the Raiders' energy in the fourth after Colgate came back in the game and the Leopards sealed the win with steady free throw shooting down the stretch.

- Grace Klag leads the team in rebounds per game (5.2).
- Christina Midgette leads the Raiders in steals per game with one.
Bucknell's Last Time Out
- Rebounding proved to be the difference maker in Bucknell women's basketball's (11-18, 7-11) 56-43 loss to Army (23-6, 14-4 PL) in Sojka Pavilion on Wednesday night as the Black Knights recorded 37 rebounds to the Bison's 22 which led to 17 second chance points for Army and only five for Bucknell.
- With the Bucknell loss alongside Lafayette's win over Colgate and Boston's loss to Holy Cross, the Bison have clinched the No. 7 seed in the Patriot League and will host Colgate on Saturday, March 7 at 4 p.m. in Sojka Pavilion.
- Army out-scored Bucknell 16-11 in the first quarter, but the Bison made it a three-point game at halftime after Reese Zemitis drained a three before the break to have Bucknell out-scoring Army by two in the second quarter. The difference in the third quarter came at the final second when Montrose drained a three to have the Black Knights out-score the Bison 15-13 and hold a five point lead with ten remaining. The fourth quarter tipped in favor of Army as the Black Knights rode its 15-7 scoring advantage to a road win.
- Tuana Coskun and Mariah Hardy led the spread-out Bison scoring efforts with nine points each. Reese Zemitis and Anna Kunzwiler followed closely behind with seven apiece, Isabella Casey notched five, Desirae Ashton had four and Ella Kreuzer rounded out Bucknell's points with two.
- Army out-shot Bucknell from the field as it shot 40 percent to the Bison's 38.6 percent. Bucknell out-shot the Black Knights from three as it shot 33.3 percent to Army's 27.8 percent. The Black Knights out-shot the Bison significantly from the free throw line going 11-for-13 compared to Bucknell's 4-for-10.
- In the Bison's 15 rebound deficit, Hardy led the team with five and Zemitis and Casey each had four. Hardy also led Bucknell in assists with four in the game and Zemitis notched three. Anna Kunzwiler led the Bison in steals with three.
