Yun, Richter Compete at Pennsylvania Women's Amateur Golf Championship

LEWISBURG, Pa. -- Bucknell women's golf standouts Paige Richter and Nicole Yun both competed at the 88th Pennsylvania Golf Association Women's Amateur Championship this week, and both finished in the top half of a talented field at Waynesborough Country Club in Paoli. Yun placed 18th out of 56 players, while Richter tied for 22nd.
Yun, a rising sophomore, improved in each round with scores of 80-79-77 for a 17-over-par total of 236 on the par-73 course. Yun is a native of Limerick, Pa., who plays out of Spring Ford Country Club. She averaged 79.4 in her first collegiate season in 2023-24, with a low round of 71 at the Bucknell Invitational.
Richter shot 239 (79-78-82) over 54 holes and tied with three others for 22nd place. The Camp Hill native plays out of the Country Club of Harrisburg, and she finished fifth at the 2023 PA Amateur at Sunnehanna Country Club. Richter was Bucknell's No. 1 player all season, finishing with a 77.7 average. The rising junior has earned All-Patriot League honors in each of her first two collegiate seasons after a pair of seventh-place finishes at the PL Championship.
The 1912 Club's Angelina Tolentino, who will be a freshman at Vanderbilt this fall, edged Purdue senior and Jericho National member Natasha Kiel by one shot to claim the title. Tolentino finished at 8-under 211 (70-73-68), while Kiel compiled a 7-under 212 (73-68-71).
The Bison women's golf team opens its 2024-25 season at the Bucknell Invitational on Sept. 6-8.
