Men's Track & Field Sits Sixth After First Day of PL Championships

LEWISBURG, Pa.- The Bucknell Bison men's track & field team sits sixth with 15 points after the first day of the Patriot League Outdoor Championships at Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium.
Results
The "A" Team of Zachary Jelinek, JP Byrnes, Jayson Harmer, and Colby Belczyk finished fourth in the 4x800-meter relay. The quartet's time of 7:38.65 earned five points.
Bernard Kemp capped his freshman year of jumping with a fourth-place finish in the long jump. The rookie's mark of 22-10 ½ won five points.
Lucas Williams completed a successful day at his first-ever league championships. The freshman placed sixth in the pole vault with a clearance of 14-10. His mark garnered three points for Bucknell.
Aiden Tacker's seventh-place throw of 182-6 in the hammer throw brought home two points for the Bison. Tacker was less than a foot away from entering the Bison top ten.
Miguel Negrete sits sixth in the decathlon after five events. He has 3182 points, earned on constant fifth and sixth place finishes.
Brandon Foust notched a successful race in the 100-meter dash by finishing seventh. The junior's time of 10.66 improved his eighth all-time mark in Bison history. He will run for gold in tomorrow's finals.
Jack Higgins gained entry for tomorrow's 1500-meter run finals by placing seventh in the preliminaries. The freshman runner used a late push to record a time of 3:48.82.
Preston Lubeski unlocked finals qualification in the 400-meter dash. The freshman ran 49.14 to nab the late spot.
