
Bison Men Finish Fourth at the Patriot League Outdoor Championships

LEWISBURG, Pa.- The Bucknell Bison men's track & field team placed fourth with 63.5 points at the Patriot League Outdoor Championships. The Orange & Blue earned a bronze medal on the second day.Â
Results
Navy won the event with 295 points, Army was second with 215, Boston University tallied 116, Bucknell was fourth, Lehigh scored 51 for fifth place, Holy Cross notched 48.5 points, Colgate followed at seventh with 37, Lafayette had 16, and American rounded out the scoring with 15.
Donner's Debriefing
"Although we did not reach our goal for number of projected points, we did reach our goal for team place. The league is competitive and we had to scratch and claw for every point. We do return the majority of our points, so the future looks great. I was proud of our guys and now we will figure out our IC4A lineup."

Amani Brown, Preston Lubeski, Brayden Young, and Brandon Foust clinched bronze and six points in the 4x100-meter relay. Their time of 41.88 beat the fourth-place finisher by 0.06 seconds.
Bucknell scored 8.5 points in the high jump. Jeffrey Cianfrocca had the best finish, placing fourth. His jump of 6-6 ¾ netted five points. Bernard Kemp finished sixth, winning three points on a jump of 6-2 ¾. Tristan An slotted tied for eighth. His leap of 6-0 ¾ earned 0.5 points.
Dariel Guzman completed his Bucknell career with a fourth-place finish in the discus throw. The senior's toss of 155-5 notched five points and came in his final attempt.
The 4x400-meter relay team of Brown, Kemp, Colby Belczyk, and Foust finished fourth. Their time of 3:17.56 scored five points and was only 0.02 seconds away from bronze.
The Bison scored seven points in the shot put. Wade Shomper led the way throwing 55-1 ½ for fifth place and four points. Braden Stryker finished sixth by tying his best mark 54-10 ¾. His result tallied three points.
Daniel Hilmer placed fifth in the 3000-meter steeplechase. His time of 9:04.81 deposited four points into the Bison treasury.
Jack Higgins made a nice outdoor debut with his sixth-place finish in the 1500-meter run. The rookie's time of 3:49.42 unlocked three points.
Chris Sims placed sixth in the triple jump. His mark of 45-7 ¼ obtained three points.
Miguel Negrete completed his Bison career by finishing seventh in the decathlon. The multi-event athlete tallied 5,906 points to win two ducats for the Bison cause. His mark edged Sam Brandstadt's 5902 set in 2012 for tenth all-time.
Lubeski provided two more points in the 400-meter dash. The rookie's time of 49.56 slotted seventh.
Belczyk finished eighth in the 800-meter run. His time of 1:54.14 netted one point.
Navy set four facility records. Samuel Keeny's 8:41.52 in the 3000-meter steeplechase beat the previous mark by nearly ten seconds. Nathan Kent's 20.98 in the 200-meter dash beat the old record of 20.99 (2012) by 0.01 seconds. The third facility record came in the 5000-meter run when Alexander Kirkland ran 13:56.64. The final record was in the 4x400-meter relay when Peter DeJonge, Jacques Guillaume, David Walker, and Nathan Kent combined for 3:09.76, beating Army's mark from 2010.
