
Women's Track & Field Hosts Patriot League Outdoor Championships This Weekend

LEWISBURG, Pa.- The Bucknell Bison women's track & field team welcomes the Patriot League to Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium for the 2024 Patriot League Outdoor Championships. This marks the seventh time Bucknell has hosted the Patriot League Outdoor Track & Field Championships, and the first since 2016. Christy Mathewson - Memorial Stadium played host to the inaugural Patriot League Outdoor Track & Field Championships in the spring of 1991.

"Although we were fourth at the Indoor Championships, our goal is to place higher than fourth at the Outdoor Championships. We do recruit and structure our program for outdoor track and field. We seem to be having a successful outdoor season. We have nice balance among all our event groups and the women are excited to compete at home."
Patriot League Championship Major Awards
All-Patriot League status will be determined by the event finishes at the 2024 Patriot League Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championship, with first-place winners earning first-team All-League honors. The runner-up in each event will earn second-team honors.
Following the conclusion of the meet, the League head coaches will vote on several individual major awards. A men's and women's track athlete, field athlete and rookie of the meet will be selected. Men's and women's coach of the year awards will also be selected. The Patriot League will also present awards to the men's and women's highest scorers of the meet.
Last Time Out (Bloomsburg Invitational)
Qualified participants will compete in the ECAC Championships next weekend.

Last Time Out (Bloomsburg Invitational)
- Annie Glenning had a career day, winning the hammer throw and setting a personal best by throwing 165-5. She now ranks tenth in Bucknell history.
- Abby Eisold also had a banner competition, winning two events. Her first victory came in the long jump, where she recorded a leap of 17-11 ½. In the 100-meter hurdles, her time of 15.57 conquered the opposing runners.
- Siobhan O'Sullivan continued her stellar career in the shot put by winning the event with a throw of 45-7.
- Abby Kates completed a tune-up for the League Championships by winning the high jump. Her leap of 5-5 ¼ was four inches higher than the second-place finisher.
- Elizabeth Bryant earned the victory in the pole vault with a clearance of 11-5 ¾.
- Freshman Madelyn Hudak recorded the first victory of her career in the javelin throw. The rookie tossed the instrument 105-9 feet.
- Bucknell finished fourth with 119.5 points.
- Meghan Quinn earned the Women's Highest Point Scorer award for her performances in the 100-meter & 200-meter dashes and the 4x100-meter & 4x400-meter relays. Her performance in the 100-meter dash rewrote the Bison record book. The junior sprinter raced for 11.64 to win the event, collect 10 points, and break her previous Bucknell record. She narrowly missed first place in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.15, but her second-place finish brought in eight points for Bucknell.
- Bridget Lalonde, Meghan Quinn, Lila Gaughan, and Karen Hull destroyed the competition in the 4x100-meter relay. The quartet broke the 46-second barrier with a time of 45.92. The group scored 10 points and broke their Bucknell record for the event. It was the third time this season that they reset the school record.
- The 4x400 relay quartet of Katherine Loew, Jessie Castellano, Quinn, and Lalonde finished second in the event with a time of 3:42.55 to produce eight points for the Bison cause.
- Bucknell deposited 18.5 points in the high jump off the efforts of a trio of formidable leapers. Olivia Boyce and Hull tied for second on a leap of 5-7 ¾. Abby Kates finished fourth off her mark of 5-6. Boyce and Hull provided seven points apiece. Kates supplied four and a half.
Qualified participants will compete in the ECAC Championships next weekend.
