
Bliss's Gold Medal & Quinn's Meet Record Headline Third Place Ranking After Day One of the PL Championships

LEWISBURG, Pa.- The Bucknell Bison women's track & field team holds third place with 44 points after the first day of the Patriot League Outdoor Championships. Bucknell won one gold medal, set two school records, and broke one meet record.

The javelin throw closed the day on a winning note for the Bison. Freshman Evelyn Bliss established her presence in the Patriot League by winning the event. Her toss of 171-11 beat the second-place thrower by over nine feet and brought home ten points. Brylee Tereska placed fourth with a throw of 158-10. She was ranked third until the final round. Her mark won five points and moved her into third all-time in Bucknell history.
Meghan Quinn headlined the sprints by resetting her school records in the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes. The senior sprinter's time of 11.56 in the 100 shattered her old mark by 0.08 seconds. Quinn won the preliminaries, gaining admittance to tomorrow's finals. The Warwick Winmaker upped her performance in the 200-meter dash. Her time of 23.83 broke the meet record of 23.89 set by Army's Calli McMullen in 2019 and Quinn's school record of 23.85 established in 2023.
Abby Eisold sits second in the heptathlon with 3064 points after four events. The senior athlete's 14.37 in the 100-meter hurdles ranks fourth in Bucknell history. She also set a personal best in the high jump (5-5 Âľ).
The Bison racked up 11 points in the 10,000-meter run. Abby Paczewski completed her Christy career with a fourth-place finish of 36.29.50. Teammate Margaret McLoughlin clinched fifth place at 36:31.93 and Lauren Trapani won seventh place (36:47.58). Paczewski earned five points, McLoughlin four points, and Trapani two points.
Karen Hull finished fourth in the long jump. The senior jumped 18-4 ÂĽ feet and earned five points for Bucknell.
Elizabeth Bryant tied her career-best mark in the pole vault with 12-2 ½. The placement ranked fourth and won five points.
Bucknell gained five points in the hammer throw courtesy of seniors Madison McGloin and Annie Glenning. McGloin's throw of 176-1 clinched sixth place and three points. Glenning's seventh-place toss of 167-5 gained two points, giving her ninth place in Bucknell history.
The "A" Team of Mari Engleby, Hailey Tabar, Katherine Loew, and Caryn Rippey finished sixth in the 4x800-meter relay. The quartet worked together to obtain a 9:05.94 time and three points.
Ella Derstine raced hard in the 400-meter hurdles and finished sixth to gain entry to tomorrow's finals. Her time of 1:02.59 ranks eighth in Bucknell history.
Katherine Loew gained entry to the 400-meter dash finals by finishing seventh in the preliminaries. The junior recorded a time of 57.25.
Caryn Rippey clinched qualification for the finals in the 1500-meter run with her eighth-place finish of 4:34.86.
Lehigh's 4x800-meter relay team set the facility record with a time of 8:47.64. The previous record was 8:59.33 set by Bucknell in 2010.Â
