Barraza Collects Patriot League Golfer of Week Award

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell sophomore Andres Barraza garnered the Patriot League Golfer of the Week award on Wednesday after his top-10 finish at Bowling Green's Highland Meadows Intercollegiate. Barraza posted two sub-par rounds this week, and his T-7th finish marked his fourth top-10 in his last six starts.
At the par-71 Highland Meadows, Barraza shot 68-73-69 to finish at 3-under-par 210 for the 54-hole event. He made five birdies in both the first and third rounds and finished with 13 on the week. Barraza was one of five players to finish at 3-under and one of 17 to finish under par for the week.
Barraza has broken par seven times in his last 12 rounds, and he is a combined 11-under par in those 12 rounds. Earlier this spring, he finished a school-record 10-under in a sixth-place finish at the Loyola Invitational in Arizona, and he followed that up with a T-6th effort at the Bash at the Beach in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
Barraza will carry a 72.1 spring average and a 73.1 full-season mark into the 2024 Patriot League Championship, which will be held Apr. 26-28 at Saucon Valley Country Club.
