Bucknell at a Glance
• Bucknell is seeded seventh for the 2024 Patriot League Women's Tennis Championships, which begin Thursday, April 18 with the tournament's first round and will run through Sunday, April 21. As a top-seven seed, the Bison begin their postseason action in the quarterfinal round on Friday, April 19 against second-seeded Navy.
• Bucknell posted a 10-12 (2-5 PL) record during the regular season. Bucknell captured Patriot League wins over No. 8 seed Lafayette and No. 4 seed Loyola last week to enter the Patriot League Tournament coming off back-to-back victories. Bucknell suffered Patriot League losses to No. 1 seed Boston U., No. 2 seed Navy, No. 3 seed Army, No. 5 seed Lehigh and No. 6 seed Colgate.
• Bucknell and Navy will meet for the 20th time since the series began in 2010. Bucknell defeated the Mids twice during the 2010 season, including once in the Patriot League Tournament, but Navy has gone on to win 17 in a row since. Friday will be the sixth time the two teams have met in the league tournament and the first time since 2017.
• This is the second time Bucknell has been seeded seventh for the Patriot League Tournament. The Bison competed as the No. 7 seed in 2015 and fell 4-0 to No. 2 Boston in the quarterfinal round. Bucknell last reached the Patriot League Championship final in 2010.
• Bucknell entered last year's Patriot League Tournament as the No. 4 seed and defeated fifth-seeded Colgate 4-0 in the quarterfinal round. Whitney King and Abby Platt won 6-1 at first doubles, and Madi Sebulsky and Caroline Marcus won 6-0 at third doubles to clinch the doubles point. King, Anna Lajos and Platt then won three straight in singles to send the Bison to the semifinal round. The Bison went on to lose 4-0 to Boston U. in the semis.
• Platt finished the 2023-24 regular season as the team's leader in singles wins with 19, going 12-4 at third singles. She also led the Bison in Patriot league dual match singles wins with four. Platt won three singles matches in a row to conclude the regular season.
• King finished just behind Platt with 18 singles wins in the regular season, including a 12-7 mark at first singles. Lajos and Tori Allen tied for third with 14 wins each.
• King and Platt led the Bison with a 22-5 record in doubles this season. The pair were 13-5 at first doubles in duals and went 9-0 in tournament action. They were also 3-2 in Patriot League duals and are now 9-2 against league opponents over the last two seasons.
• With 62 career doubles wins under her belt, King is now tied for eighth in program history. She's also tied for 12th in program history in combined doubles and singles victories, achieving 110 in her three seasons.
• Bucknell finished the 2022-23 campaign 13-13 (4-3 PL). Bucknell's Patriot League Tournament win over Colgate was the program's 500th all-time victory in what was the 50th season of Bucknell women's tennis. At the end of the year, King was named to the All-Patriot League First Team and the Academic All-Patriot League Team.
• Bucknell returned all eight members of last spring's roster and added two newcomers: Allen and Jaycie Mair. The roster is comprised of three seniors, three juniors, two sophomores and the two rookies.
• Seniors Tyne Miller, Kate Novak and Sebulsky are serving as team captains this season.
• Bucknell head coach Tammy Cecchini is in her fifth season leading the program. She owns a 46-43 record since arriving in Lewisburg and moved to third on Bucknell all-time coaching records list this season. Cecchini is 2-3 in Patriot League Tournament matches with the Bison.

Scouting #2 Seed Navy
• Navy enters the tournament seeded second behind Boston U. after going 21-6 (4-1 PL) in the regular season. The Mids lost 4-2 to the Terriers for their only Patriot League defeat of the season.
• This is the third consecutive year the Mids have been seeded second at the league championships. They have never been seeded lower than third and have earned the top seed three times. Navy has reached the Patriot League Championship final seven times but has yet to win the title.
• Navy reached the Patriot League semifinal round last season after defeating Loyola 4-0 in the quarterfinals. Its season came to an end with a 4-2 loss to No. 3 seed Army in the semis. The Mids went 19-6 (4-1 PL) in 2022-23.
• Navy returned two All-Patriot League players from last season: Emily Tannenbaum and Sia Chaudry. Tannenbaum was named the 2023 Patriot League Player of the Year.
• Tannenbaum leads the Mids with a 31-6 singles record this season, including a 16-1 mark at first singles. Chaudry and Samantha Johns have also eclipsed 20 singles wins on the season. In doubles play, Kate Lee and Parvathi Shanker make up Navy's winningest tandem at 16-12, while Chaudry and Johns have gone 13-10 overall and 8-5 at first doubles.
• Navy head coach Keith Puryear is in his 16th season leading the program. He is 295-100 during his tenure in Annapolis.

With a win on Friday, the Bison will advance to the Patriot League semifinal round for a second year in a row and will face the winner of No. 3 Army and No. 6 Colgate at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 20.
