Women's Tennis Drops 6-1 Decision to Richmond

RICHMOND, Va.- The Bucknell Bison women's tennis team (1-5) dropped a 6-1 decision to the host Richmond Spiders (2-2) on Saturday afternoon. Bucknell recorded a win in the singles match thanks to Tales from the Herd subject, Anna Lajos.Â
Lajos defeated Richmond's Andrea Campodonico in three sets (2-6, 7-5, 10-7), having mounted a comeback after falling behind 1-0 in sets.Â
Tyne Miller won the first set, 6-4, in her singles match, but was defeated 0-6 and 10-6 to drop the contest. No other Bison single participant recorded a set win.
Bucknell was defeated in all doubles matches, including the Bison's previously undefeated pairing of Whitney King & Abby Platt. Platt & King fell to 12-1 on the season after losing to Richmond's Lara Bakhaya & Campodonico.Â
A particular item of note is Bucknell's Kate Novak's sister Elizabeth Novak plays for Richmond.Â
