
Men's Track & Field Travels to Patriot League Indoor Championships

LEWISBURG, Pa.- The Bucknell Bison men's track & field team journeys to Boston for the 2024 Patriot League Indoor Track & Field Championships on Feb. 24 & 25. The team looks to improve its fifth-place standing in 2022-23 and return to the top three.Â

Where: BU Track & Tennis Center-Boston, Mass.
When: Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 24-25, 2024
Participating teams: American, Army, Boston University, Bucknell, Colgate, Holy Cross, Lafayette, Lehigh, Navy
This marks the third time Boston University will host the Patriot League Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field Championships at the Track & Tennis Center (TTC). The TTC opened in 2002, replacing the Commonwealth Armory, and is touted as one of the fastest indoor tracks in the world. Patriot League on ESPN+ Coverage
Track events for the 2023-24 Patriot League Indoor Track and Field Championships will be streamed on ESPN+. Field events during the championship will not be streamed, but up-to-date content featuring Patriot League multimedia journalist Maria Trivelpiece will be available by following @PatriotLeagueTV on Instagram.
Patriot League Championship Major Awards
All-Patriot League status will be determined by the event finishes at the 2023-24 Patriot League Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field Championship, with first-place winners earning first-team All-League honors. The runner-up in each event will earn second-team honors.

Following the conclusion of the meet, the League head coaches will vote on several individual major awards. A men's and women's track athlete, field athlete, and rookie of the meet will be selected. Men's and women's coach of the year awards will also be selected. The Patriot League will also present awards to the men's and women's highest scorers of the meet.

The Inside Herd on the Bison
- Bucknell returns zero All-Patriot League members.
- Ethan Wolford-Tuffy set the Gerhard Fieldhouse record for the 400-meter dash. The speedster dashed at a 47.88 clip. The time ranks fourth in Bucknell history.Â
- Freshman jumper Bernard Kemp broke into the Bucknell top ten for the long jump. His attempt of 23-8 1/4 obtained ninth all-time.Â
- Thrower Wade Shomper moved to ninth all-time in the shot put with his heave of 54-0.Â
- Track & field aficionados should pay attention to dashmen Brandon Foust and Cooper Hyken. Both runners are in the top six in the 60-meter dash.Â
- Other Bison to watch include middle-distance specialists Colby Belczyk and Zachary Jelinek.Â
- Head Coach Kevin Donnor has once won Men's Coach of the Year for indoors.Â
- Bucknell finished fifth with 51.5 points.Â
- Tristan An led the Bison scoring effort, earning 5.5 points for his third-place finish in the high jump. The jumper leaped to a placement of 6-7 1/2. His jump grabbed IC4A certification.
- Franco Perinotti finished fourth in the heptathlon with 4965 points. His efforts earned Bucknell five points and third all-time in the Bison record books.
- The relay teams also powered the Bucknell scoring output. The quartet of Rayven Sample, Gardy Philogene, Max Spaulding, and Ethan Wolford-Tuffy finished fourth in the 4x400-meter relay. Their time of 3:19.76 ensured the Bison five points and the group ECAC qualification. Jayson Harmer, Zachary Jelinek, Colby Belczyk, and Christian Cadmus teamed up to finish seventh in the distance medley. They raced to a time of 10:08.61 to win two points and IC4A participation.Â
Any qualifying Bison will compete in the prestigious ECAC Championships.Â
