Donner's Debriefing
"It was a solid meet overall for us considering it was such a long day. We had 14 personal and/or season bests on the women's sides and 16 personal and/or season bests on the men's side. I also like the consistency that many of our athletes are showing which I believe is critical when preparing for championship meets. It was great to see Gaughan and Sharp climb on our all-time lists in the long jump and shot put. Quinn improved upon her 60-meter dash time and stays at No.2 all-time. Kemp had a great series in the men's long jump to make our all-time list."
Recap
Bucknell dominated the shot put, placing three throwers in the top ten. Freshman Justley Sharp led the bunch by winning the event with her 48-2 ¾ heave. The mark moves her from fifth in Bucknell history to third. Record holder Siobhan O'Sullivan slotted fourth (46-0 ¾), and rookie Prizila Negrete placed tenth (41-9 ½).
Meghan Quinn won the 23rd and 24th events of her career by winning gold in the 60-meter dash. The senior's time of 7.55 improved by 0.01 seconds on her personal best mark, which ranks second in Bucknell history. She won the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.35. That time would be the best in Bucknell history if Quinn did not already own that record. Quinn's time of 24.03 set the record back in 2023.
Lila Gaughan headlined the long jump, placing second with an attempt of 19-4 ¼. That mark moves into second place in Bucknell history, passing Kaitlin Salisbury's 2018 jump. Gaughan previously held third all-time for Bucknell. Bucknell's record holder, Karen Hull, finished seventh (18-1).
Three Bison leapers notched top-ten finishes in the high jump. The school's record holder, Karen Hull, finished second with a leap of 5-5 ¾. Abby Kates tied for fifth (5-5 ¾), and Olivia Boyce grabbed ninth (5-3 ¾).
The Bison placed three runners in the top four of the 3000-meter run. Freshman Kailey Granger grabbed silver (10:02.12), senior Ally Clarke was on her heels, finishing third (10:02.63), and Abby Paczewski brought home fourth (10:09.20).
The 4x400-meter relay quartet of Katherine Loew, Colleen Linko, Anna Posh, and Quinn finished second. The grouping provided a time of 3:59.49. The mark placed them sixth all-time in Bucknell history.
Two Bucknell athletes finished in the top five in the triple jump. Freshman Megan Baggetta grabbed third place (37-5.5), and senior Kaia Slaw finished fourth (37-3 ¾).
The mile run witnessed two Bison runners finish in the top five. Sarah Policano won bronze (5:04.63), and Grace Vives placed fourth (5:07.03).
Hailey Tabar earned fourth in the 800-meter run by racing for 2:17.49.
Colleen Linko notched sixth place in the 400-meter dash with a time of 58.05.
Christine Ajao provided a good showing for the Bison in the weight throw. The junior achieved seventh place on a heave of 53-11. A placement that ranks in the top ten all-time if Ajao did not claim fifth.
Hull finished ninth in the 60-meter hurdles. The senior had a time of 9.00 to earn her third top-ten mark of the meet.
