PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – A successful week for the Bucknell men's tennis team's four juniors at the ITA Northeast Regional Championships came to an end on Sunday with Adam Stavrakas and Oscar Bain Moreno de Vega dropping a close doubles match in the Round of 16.
After posting a good win over a strong Penn duo on Saturday, Stavrakas and Bain lost a tight 8-6 verdict to Delaware's Piotr Siekanowicz and Euan Mackenzie, falling one win shy of the quarterfinals.
Earlier in the week, Amar Tahirovic made it to the Round of 16 in singles, Stavrakas won twice in the qualifying round and then posted another singles win in the main draw, and Bain and McDonald also won singles tilts.
The Bison quartet defeated opponents from strong programs such as Penn State, Penn, Villanova, Drexel, and Hofstra.
