Hull's School Record Headlines Decisive Gulden Invitational Win for Bison Women

LEWISBURG, Pa.- The Bucknell Bison women's track & field team had eight wins and one school record in another classic Gulden Invitational on Saturday. Bucknell decisively won the event with 212.5 points, outdistancing second-place Binghamton with 97 points.

Karen Hull added another notch to her epic Bucknell career. The senior star won the long jump, earned ten points and ECAC qualification, and set a Bucknell indoor record with her leap of 19-6. She now holds four Bucknell records. The previous record holder, Kaitlin Salisbury, was present for the history-making jump. The mark ranks 60th nationally in the 2023-24 season. Hull also took home third in the 60-meter hurdles. Her time of 8.86 clinched ECAC qualification and six points.
Justley Sharp moved to fifth place in Bucknell history for the shot put with her event-winning heave of 47-05.25. The freshman won ten points and ECAC qualification. Avery Rebar earned silver (40-04.75) and eight points. Prizila Negrete grabbed fourth (39-10.00) and four points.
Bucknell took home gold, silver, and bronze in the 400-meter dash. Katherine Loew grabbed first (58.37), Colleen Linko earned second (59.17), and Anna Posh slotted third (59.36). The trio nabbed 24 points for Bison.
Three Bison throwers finished inside the top four for the weight throw. Christine Ajao won first place (50.04.75), Prizila Negrete grabbed bronze (49-03.50), and Isabelle Roes obtained fourth (49-01.00). The trio added 22 points to Bucknell's efforts.
Abby Kates won the high jump with a mark of 5-06.50 to win ten points and ECAC qualification. Olivia Boyce added four points with her fourth-place finish of 5-02.50.
The Bison placed four runners in the top of the 800-meter run. Caryn Rippey won the event (2:17.78), Abby Paczewski finished second (2:17.82), Katrina Torelli obtained third (2:19.74), and Lauren Shaffer notched fifth (2:24.64). The four runners earned 26 points for the Orange & Blue coffers.
Bucknell dominated the 3000-meter run. Kailey Granger lapped the group, earning gold and finishing eight seconds ahead of the second-place runner. Her time of 10:15.42 won ten points for the Bison. Teammate Ally Clarke placed second (10:23.44) and earned eight points.
The Orange & Blue owned the 4x800-meter relay, with both teams finishing in the top two. The "A" Team of Hailey Tabar, Eva Lindner, Grace Vives, and Caryn Rippey blew away the opposition. Their first-place time of 9:30.72 was nearly 12 seconds better than the silver foursome and gave Bucknell ten points. The "B" Team of Regan McGrath, Margaret McLoughlin, Anna Posh, and Abby Paczewski was second (9:42.52).
Meghan Quinn placed second in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.70. The speed earned her ECAC qualification and eight points for the Bison.
Lila Gaughan finished second in the long jump with a mark of 18-11.25. The placement gained Bucknell eight points and ECAC qualification. Madison Libby placed fourth (18-0.50), adding four ducats to the Bison treasury.
Freshman Megan Baggetta finished second (37-11.25) and won eight points in the triple jump.
Elizabeth Bryant finished second (11-07.75) in the pole vault. The clearance earned seven points. Karly Renn tied for sixth (10-08.00) and brought home 0.5 pts.
Two Bison won ten points in the 5000-meter run. Lauren Joyce finished second (18:15.74), and Maizy Aikey nabbed fifth (19:28.33).
Three Bison runners earned nine combined points in the 1000-meter run. Grace Vives led the contingent, finishing third (3:02.52), Eva Linder nabbed fifth (3:02.67), and Margaret McLoughlin placed sixth (3:03.17). Their marks rank #107, #112, and #115 in the 2023-24 Division I season.
Lauren Trapani and Meghan Smith gave Bucknell seven points in the mile run. Trapani won bronze (5:12.99), and Smith took home sixth (5:18.86).
The Bucknell "A" Team of Mari Engleby, Lauren Shaffer, Aidan Smith, and Katrina Torelli grabbed sixth place (4:22.06) and one point in the 4x400-meter relay.
