Distance Medley Relay Victory Highlight Night for Women's Track & Field

LEWISBURG, Pa./UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.- The Bucknell Bison women's track & field team split between the Bison Open & Multi and the Penn State National Open Friday night and earned impressive results at both meets, including four wins, numerous ECAC spots, and two top ten entrances.

The Bison stampeded the competition in the distance medley relay. The "B" Team of Hollie Walters, Hailey Tabar, Mari Engelby, and Eva Lindner won the event by nearly 13 seconds. The quartet unlocked ECAC qualification with a time of 12:10.89. It is the 18th fastest speed in Division I. The "A" Team of Hailey Reinhard, Regan McGrath, Katrina Torelli, and Kailey Granger performed well, finishing second with a time of 12:24.10.
Karen Hull notched first place and ECAC qualification in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.92.
Meghan Quinn added to her career win total with another triumph in the 200-meter dash. The senior earned ECAC qualification with a time of 24.49.
Siobhan O'Sullivan won gold and ECAC qualification in the shot put with her toss of 46-05.50.
Samantha Cole finished fourth in the Orange Pentathlon with 2876 points.
Bradley Weldon obtained fifth place (19:11.13) in the 5000-meter run.

Abby Paczewski and Caryn Rippey entered Bucknell's top time for the mile run. Paczewski's time of 4:54.05 finished 36th in the event but now ranks sixth in the Bison annals. Rippey was right behind her teammate, finishing 37th (4:54.64). Her time is now eighth in Bucknell's history.
Two Bison runners broke into the top ten for the 5000-meter run. Margaret McLoughlin obtained ninth place (17:50.32) and Lauren Trapani garnered tenth (17:53.54).

The Orange & Blue continue with the second day at both meets. Penn State restarts at 10 a.m. and the Bison Open resumes at 11 a.m.
