Water Polo Travels to MAWPC Competition Against No.19 Navy

LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Bucknell men's water polo team spends its second consecutive weekend on the road, this time traveling to Annapolis, Md., to compete against Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference opponent No. 19 Navy on Sunday at noon.

About the Bison

Bucknell heads into the weekend having won its last three consecutive games, which included two wins against fellow MAWPC conference rivals George Washington (W 13-11) and Johns Hopkins (W 17-16), and No. 20 Air Force (W, 13-8).
The Bison and Midshipmen will meet for the first time this season. However, this weekend's match-up will mark the 119th time the two school teams have faced off.
In the team's last 10 meetings, Bucknell and Navy are currently 5-5 against one another.
The Bison went up against the Mids three times in the 2022 season. Navy walked away with two regular-season wins, and Bucknell clinched the conference championship.
Sophomore attacker Aleksa Stefanovic was selected as this week's Bison of the Week. Stefanovic had a standout weekend in the pool for the Bison, notching five goals against George Washington, the most he tallied in a single game this year.
Stefanovic leads the team in goals with 18, followed by junior attacker Shay Gillearn with 13 goals.
First-year goalie David Dumitru tallied 14 saves against George Washington.
