
Men's Cross Country Journeys to Bethlehem for the Paul Short Run

LEWISBURG, Pa.- The Bucknell University men's cross country team journeys to Bethlehem on Saturday, Sept. 30, when the team competes in the annual and highly competitive Paul Short Run. The event will once again be one of the largest in the country, featuring 450 college and high school teams with a combined 5,515 entries. Teams will be distributed between six scoring college races, four high school scoring races, and two open-division races.Â

"I consider the Paul Short Run to be the start of our season as it is the first major meet of the campaign for the team," said head coach Kevin Donner. "This meet will essentially be a preview of the Patriot League and Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships. The regional champions will be raced on this course."

The Bison will have a week to rest and regroup before competing at the prestigious ECAC/IC4A Championships on Oct. 13.Â

Overview
- The Goodman Campus Cross Country Course, home of Lehigh Cross Country, will be the site of the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regionals on Nov. 10.Â
- On Sept. 16, the Bison finished first at the RMU Colonial Invitational out of six teams.Â
- Sophomore Henry Didden, after finishing second at the Harry Lang Invitational, captured his first cross country victory, finishing with a time of 24:19.4. He led the second-place runner by nearly eight seconds.Â
- For the second race in a row, sophomore Grayson Crockett was the number two runner for Bucknell. Crockett broke into the top five, placing fourth (24:35.0).
- Trent Dinant joined his fellow sophomores in the top ten, collecting sixth place (24.39.7), finishing 22 spots higher than at the Lang Invitational.Â
- Bucknell returns to the Paul Short Run after not participating in 2022. The Bison finished 22nd out of 40 teams in 2021.Â
