LEWISBURG, Pa.- Bucknell announces that Meghan Quinn won Bison of the Week on May 9 for her historic performance at the 2023 Patriot League Outdoor Track & Field Championships. This is the third time that Quinn earned the honor. She was also awarded the laurel on Feb. 26 and April 2.Â
Quinn dominated the Outdoor Championships. The junior sprinter collected 36 points across four events to lead all Patriot League scorers: men or women. Her massive point total won the Women's Highest Point Scorer award and by doing so made history as the first Bison to win the honor. Quinn won and set the Bucknell records in the 100-meter dash and the 4x100-meter relay. Her time of 11.64 in the 100-meter dash broke her previous record of 11.69 set by Quinn earlier this season. The 45.92 mark in the 4x100-meter relay shattered the old time of 46.32. Quinn's compatriots in the relay were Bridget LaLonde, Lila Gaughan, and Karen Hull, who also set the old record with Quinn earlier in the 2023 campaign.Â
Furthermore, Quinn's weekend included second-place finishes in the 200-meter dash and the 4x400-meter relay. Her time of 24.15 brought home eight points for the Bison and was only 0.23 seconds away from first. The 4x400-meter relay time of Katherine Loew, Jessie Castellano, Quinn, and Lalonde piloted a second-place finish and eight points on a time of 3:42.55.Â
Quinn now holds six Bucknell records (four outdoor and two indoor), which is the most of any current student-athlete wearing the Orange & Blue.
It is the sixth time a Bucknell women's track & field athlete has won Bison of the Week. Quinn has won it thrice, Olivia Boyce just earned it last week, Abby Kates collected it once, and so did Karen Hull.
This weekend, Quinn and her fellow qualifying teammates will compete at the ECACÂ Championships hosted by George Mason University.Â
