Women's Water Polo Competes in the CWPA Championships

LEWISBURG, Pa.- The Bucknell Bison women's water polo team (5-24, 0-10 CWPA) competes in the CWPA Championships this weekend starting with a game tomorrow at 4:00pm against number three seed Harvard. The Bison are the sixth seed.

If the Bison are triumphant, they will play number two Michigan on Saturday at 2:00pm. If the Orange & Blue should fail to produce the upset, they will play the loser of the four-versus-five matchup on Saturday at 4:00pm. The defeated party of that engagement is eliminated from the tournament while the winner claims fifth place.

The champion of the tournament earns a qualification bid to the NCAA Women's Water Polo Championship. Due to the format for the NCAA Championship, it is possible the CWPA Champion will need to compete in a play-in game to earn a position in the NCAA Championship field at the University of the Pacific on Friday-Sunday, May 12-14.

The Inside "Herd" on the Bison

The Bison were idle last weekend allowing the team the opportunity to refresh and train for the championship matches.
Bella Moynihan was named to the CWPA All-Conference team.
Bucknell has a long history of success in the CWPA Championships but is 0-5 in title games with the most recent appearance in 2021.
The Orange & Blue are 16-24 all-time against Harvard, with Bucknell losing both matchups this season. Harvard is 21-8 overall and 5-5 in CWPA play.
