Water Polo Finishes Regular Season with Narrow Loss to Brown

LEWISBURG, Pa.- The Bucknell Bison women's water polo team (5-24, 0-10 CWPA) ended the regular season with a narrow 14-10 loss to #20 Brown. The Bison led 4-2 after the first quarter before the Bears rallied for the victory. Isabelle Monaghan was the game's high scorer with six goals.Â

Brown streaked out to a 2-0 lead before Bucknell counterattacked with four goals. Bella Schraa scored the first tally followed by Bella Moynihan's goal to tie the game. Monaghan found the back of the next twice to give Bucknell a 4-2 lead after one period of play.
Brown started the second quarter with three straight goals. Schraa scored to tie the game again. The Bears regained the lead again before Monaghan's third goal of the game tied up the game again. Just before halftime, Brown scored to grab a 7-6 halftime advantage.
Monaghan tallied twice in the third quarter but the Bears grabbed the 10-8 lead entering the fourth quarter.
In the fourth quarter, Monaghan and Schraa each scored a goal but Brown obtained four goals to win 14-10.Â
