Bison Take Home Second at the Colonial Relays

WILLIAMSBURG, Va.- The Bucknell Bison men's track and field team completed the Colonial Relays with a second-place finish. The Bison totaled 81 points to earn silver out of the 38 scoring teams.

"To finish second in such a large meet shows that we have some nice balance, and all of our event groups contributed to a nice overall finish, especially with our throwers," said head coach Kevin Donner. We fit in well in this meet, and as a staff, we figured out our strengths and weaknesses. Going back-to-back days in a team-oriented atmosphere will help us prepare for the Patriot League Championships in five weeks."
Chris Sims leaped to a mark of 44-03.50 in the triple jump to finish second.Â
The Bison placed three throwers in the top ten for the discus. Keenan LaMontagne led the way finishing third (151-08), Braden Stryker grabbed fifth (147-04), and Wade Shomper brought home seventh place with his time of 135-01.
The quartet for the 4x100-meter relay of Cooper Hyken, Matthew Perello, Brian Scotto, and Brandon Foust finished third with a time of 42.15.Â
Brian Scotto placed fourth in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.83. His time puts him at 10th in Bucknell history.
Three Bison throwers landed themselves in the top 10 for the shot put. Anthony Zamarra grabbed fourth (50-08.00), Wade Shomper grabbed fifth (50-03-25), and Braden Stryker earned seventh (47-11.75).
The Bucknell relay team of Christian Cadmus, Ethan Wolford-Tuffy, Alex Simpson, and Samuel Whittaker recorded fourth in the distance relay. Their time of 10:10.70 drove past other challenges.
The quartet of Cooper Hyken, Matthew Perello, Brian Scotto, and Brandon Foust landed a third-place finish in the 4x100-meter relay. Their time of 42.96 earned them a top-five finish.
The foursome of Hyken, Perello, Kameron Schreffler, and Grady Philogene grabbed a sixth-place finish with a time of 1:31.30.
The grouping of Zachery Jelinek, Colby Belczyk, Ethan Wolford-Tully, and Rayven Sample obtained a sixth place in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:19.62.
