
Women's Tennis Battles in 6-1 Loss to Navy Sunday

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell women's tennis team won the doubles point, and two forced third sets in singles, but the Bison succumbed to Navy at the Varsity Tennis Courts Sunday afternoon. Navy won its fifth consecutive match after defeating Lehigh 7-0 on Friday, while Bucknell moved to 9-11 (1-2 PL).
Whitney King and Abby Platt teamed up for a 7-6 win at No. 1 doubles, and Madi Sebulsky joined Caroline Marcus in a 6-3 win at No. 3 doubles to give Bucknell a 1-0 lead. Sebulsky and Marcus are now 6-3 when playing as a tandem this season. King and Platt are 9-4 playing together.
Navy won four singles matches in a row to seal the match, but it wasn't without a fierce Bison effort.
Platt won her first set against Navy senior Casey Accola, but Accola went on to win 4-6, 6-4, 6-3. Tyne Miller battled back after Sia Chaudry's 6-2 win in the first set at No. 3 singles and won 6-2 in the second before the Mid held on for the win.
Bucknell is on the road for its next three matches, beginning with Lehigh in Bethlehem, Pa. on Saturday, April 8.
