Justley Sharp Wins Patriot League Rookie of the Week

LEWISBURG, Pa.- Bucknell women's track and field freshman thrower Justley Sharp commenced her collegiate career with a smashing success, and the league office recognized her with Patriot League Women's Track & Field Rookie of the Week.
"I thought it was a great starting point for Justley's college career," said throws coach Ryan Protzman. "She brings great energy to the circle and is intentional with her training. I'm excited for her to build on this opener."
Sharp threw in the shot put and immediately made her name known. The freshman earned silver on a heave of 46-5.25 to place as the highest Bucknell thrower in the event. Her heave also ranks her sixth in Bucknell history. The mark granted her ECAC qualification.
The Bucknell Bison women's track & field team returns to action at the Nittany Lion Challenge on Jan. 13.
