Coach Donner's Debriefing
"I was pleased with all the event areas, considering this is the first meet. It looks like we are well ahead of where we were one year ago. Now we have a gauge based on our fall training, and it will be critical for our athletes to maintain fitness and sharpness over the semester break."
Recap
Meghan Quinn started her senior season with a bang, winning the 300-meter dash to set a new Bucknell and Gerhard Fieldhouse record. Her 39.55 time dethroned Jess Bridle's 2015 mark of 39.75 at the top of the Bison record book and displaced A. Johnson's (Georgetown) time of 39.61 set in 2009. Quinn and Melanie Buczko are the only Bison who own Gerhard Fieldhouse records.
Quinn continued her success with a 7.56 time in the 60-meter dash. The mark placed her second in the event, granted her ECAC qualification, and matched her placement of second in Bucknell history.
Karen Hull continued her record-breaking ways in the high jump. The jumper won the event, clinched ECAC qualification, and tied for first in Bucknell history with Amy Mantush (2010) and Michaela Bracken (2022) with her leap of 5-8.
Hull added a second victory by winning the 60-meter hurdles. Her time of 8.69 is only 0.01 seconds away from Kafilat Oladiran's Bucknell's best mark of 8.68. Hull already had the second-best time in Bucknell history at 8.74 before improving upon her personal best.
Lila Gaughan leaped into the Bucknell record book for the long jump. Gaughan's mark of 19-1.5 gained her silver, ECAC qualification, and slotted her second all-time in the Bison annals. It is the first time since Gianna Macones in 2020 that a Bison jumper has entered the top ten.
Anna Posh clinched gold and ECAC qualification in the 500-meter run (1:16.50).
The Bison swept the top five slots in the 800-meter run, with Katherine Loew winning first place by four seconds over the runner-up. Loew's time of 2:17.07 demolished the competition.
Hollie Walters brought home gold for the Bison in the mile run. The veteran runner's time of 5:11.47 paced the field by 12 seconds.
Abby Paczewski transitioned her cross country success into gold in the 3000-meter run. The senior runner clinched ECAC qualification with a time of 9:57.20, over 18 seconds faster than the second-place racer. Â
Sarah Durkan won the blue pentathlon with 2956 points, narrowing edging the second-place finisher by three points. She finished first in the high jump (4-11) and grabbed third in the long jump (16-05) and 800-meter run (2:37.28).
Two Bison throwers earned ECAC qualification in the shot put. Freshman Justley Sharp introduced herself to the collegiate stage with a crowning performance. Sharp lived up to her last name, winning silver on her toss of 46-5.25. The performance ranks her sixth in Bucknell history. Siobhan O'Sullivan, the all-time Bucknell record holder for shot put, finished third (45-7.25).
Isabelle Roes placed second (52-3.75) in the weight throw. Freshman Prizilla Negrete won bronze (51-11.25) in her first collegiate action.
