
Men's Swim & Dive Remains in First Place After Day Two of Bucknell Invitational

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The men's swim & dive team maintained its first-place position through the second day of the Bucknell Invitational, as the Bison posted three third-place finishes and recorded a new program top-10 time in the 200 medley relay.
A pair of Bison made the A finals in both the 200 freestyle and 100 butterfly. Chris Kopac took third place in the 200 free with a 1:38.54, followed by teammate Riley Twiss in eighth place with a 1:41.06. Gehrig placed fourth in the 100 fly with a 48.53, and fellow senior Chris Fabian scored eighth-place points with a 50.57.
Gehrig was part of Bucknell's two impressive relay finishes on Saturday. He was joined by Kopac, Twiss and Andy Dorsel on the 800 freestyle team that took third with a 6:41.42. Fabian, Noah Basista, Gehrig and John Greene swam the 200 medley relay in 1:29.93, which ranks sixth in school history and was fifth among the field at the meet.
Dorsel was Bucknell's other third-place finisher in the 400 IM, posting a 3:57.82. Fabian added more points by taking fifth in the 100 backstroke with a 50.35, and Basista grabbed seventh-place points in the 100 breaststroke with a 56.37. Matt Raudabaugh registered the fifth-best time overall in the 100 breaststroke, posting a 55.55 to touch the wall first in the B finals.
With 807 team points, Bucknell is currently 78 points ahead of second-place Johns Hopkins (729) entering the final seven events on Sunday. Fordham is in third with 728 points. The prelims are set to begin at 10 a.m., and the finals will begin at 5 p.m.
