Bucknell Men at a Glance
• Bucknell's men's squad is 4-2 (4-2 PL) heading into this weekend's home invitational. The Bison are back in action after a three-week hiatus and will be hosting their annual trials/finals meet. Prelims will begin at 10 a.m. each day, and the finals will start at 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and at 5 p.m. on Sunday.
• Bucknell last competed at Loyola on Nov. 11 where it fell 201-99 to the hosting Greyhounds. Highlighting the dual were the efforts of John Gehrig, who touched the wall first in three events to score 27 points for the Bison. Alex Crossing and Jack Krug also won events.
• Gehrig has placed first 10 times this season and was named Patriot League Male Swimmer of the Week back on Oct. 17. Jackson Vinarub also took home weekly honors that week, earning Patriot League Male Diver of the Week for the first time in his career.
• Vinarub made an addition to Bucknell's all-time top 10 list, registering the third-best 1-meter dive (289.65) in school history at Boston.
• As a team, Bucknell has wins over Lafayette, American, Boston U. and Holy Cross this season and is 17-7 in duals since the start of the 2021-22 campgain.
• Bucknell returned five All-Patriot League honorees this season: Justin DiSanto (2023 & 2022 2nd Team), Andy Dorsel (2022 1st Team, 2023 2nd Team), Chris Fabian (2022 1st Team, 2023 2nd Team), Gehrig (2023 & 2022 1st Team), and Chris Fabian (2022 1st Team & 2023 2nd Team).
• The Bison lost two-time All-Patriot League honoree and three-time Patriot League medalist Leo Kuyl to graduation. Kuyl set both the 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle school records in 2023.
• Bucknell returned three school record holders: Kopac (200 freestyle), Fabian (100 butterfly) and Gehrig (200 butterfly, 200 IM).
• Bucknell finished the 2022-23 season 6-2 (5-2 PL) and placed third at the Patriot League Championships with 538.5 points. The Bison went on to take second at the ECAC Championships.
• Seniors Gehrig, Fabian and Noah Basista are serving as team captains this season.
• Bucknell welcomed seven newcomers to the roster this season.
A Look Back at the 2022 Bucknell Invitational (Men)
• Bucknell's men placed first out of eight teams with 1,346.5 points at last year's trials/finals meet, which featured four of the same teams as this year's meet.
• After sitting in second place through the first two days of the meet, the Bison jumped Delaware on Sunday with two first-place finishes to seal the win. Bucknell used a top finish in the 400 freestyle relay team to take the lead.
• Bucknell placed first in six events at last year's invitational, and the Bison made nine new additions to the program top-10 lists.
Bucknell Women at a Glance
• The Bison women enter the weekend 3-3 (3-3 PL) and fresh off a three-week break from competition.
• Bucknell last competed at Loyola on Saturday, Nov. 11 where it fell 174-126 to the hosting Greyhounds. The Bison earned first-place finishes in six events in the dual, including two wins by first-year Sydney Dettmann.
• The Bison have wins over Lafayette, American and Holy Cross this season and are 38-8 in duals since the start of the 2018-19 campaign.
• Meghan Catherwood is Bucknell's lone Patriot League weekly award winner so far this season. She took home PL Female Diver of the Week honors following the Fall Invite on Oct. 21.
• Bucknell returned three All-Patriot League honorees this season: Abby Doss (2023 2nd Team, 2022 1st Team), Esme Hunter (2022 & 2023 2nd Team), Caroline McGann (2023 2nd Team).
• The Bison lost three-time All-Patriot League honoree and six-time Patriot League medalist Sabrina Vumbacco as well as three-time All-Patriot League honoree and one-time Patriot League medalist Catherine Craig to graduation last spring.
• Abby Doss is Bucknell's lone school record holder on the roster. She set the 200 breaststroke standard at the 2021 Bucknell Invite.
• Bucknell finished the 2022-23 season 6-2 (5-2 PL) and placed third at the Patriot League Championships with 540.5 points. The Bison went on to take second at the ECAC Championships, and Catherwood competed at the 2023 NCAA Zone Diving Championships.

• Bucknell welcomed nine newcomers to the roster this season.
A Look Back at the 2022 Bucknell Invitational (Women)
• Bucknell's women's team maintained first place throughout the 2022 invitational and finished the weekend with 1,312 points. The Bison had no first-place finishers but took second in five events and made eight new additions to the program's all-time top 10 lists.
• The Bison had nine finishes in the top three throughout the weekend and 28 in the top eight.
• The Bison ended the weekend with a runner-up finish in the 400 freestyle relay, and the team posted the third-fastest time in program history.Â
A Look Ahead
• Bucknell returns to dual action on Saturday, Jan. 13 when it challenges Army in West Point, N.Y. The Bison then host La Salle at Kinney Natatorium on Sunday, Jan. 14.
