Women's Tennis Falls 5-2 in First Dual Match at Findlay

FINDLAY, Ohio – The Bucknell women's tennis team competed in its first dual match of the season Friday afternoon and fell 5-2 on the road to Findlay. The Bison captured wins at No. 1 and No. 3 singles in the effort.
Findlay, which posted an 18-6 record last season and won the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Championship, swept the doubles points and won three singles matches in straight sets. For the Bison, Whitney King won 4-6, 6-2, 10-7 on court one to improve to 7-2 on the season.
Tyne Miller was also a winner for the Bison, defeating her opponent on court three 6-4, 6-3 to improve to 7-3 on the young season. Madi Sebulsky forced a third set at No. 6 singles but ultimately fell 6-1, 4-6, 10-8.
Bucknell did not play its top doubles team of King and Abby Platt, but Miller and Anna Lajos put up a fight on court one before falling 6-4.
Bucknell returns to play on Saturday to face Ferris State in Big Rapids, Mich. at 11:30 a.m.
