Women's Tennis to Face Findlay and Ferris State in First Dual Matches

• Bucknell is set to play its first two dual matches of the season when it travels to Findlay and Ferris State this weekend. They're Bucknell's only duals of the fall and the team's last competition before the new year.
• Bucknell played at the Rick McClure Women's Invitational two weeks ago for its last of three fall tournaments. The Bison posted another strong showing as Whitney King and Abby Platt capture the tournament championship. Bucknell also had two pairs advance to the consolation finals.
• King and Platt remain unbeaten in doubles this season at 9-0. The pair have won 15 straight dating back to last season and are 24-4 as a team in their careers.
• In singles play, Anna Lajos has a team-high eight wins, and Mirra Manolov is still unbeaten at 5-0. Platt (7-1), Lajos (8-1) and Tori Allen (7-1) have lost just one singles match each.
• Overall, the Bison have a combined 54-21 singles record and a 26-18 mark in doubles play this fall.
• Bucknell finished the 2022-23 campaign 13-13 (4-3 PL) and reached the Patriot League semifinal round for a second time under Cecchini. The Bison defeated Colgate 4-0 in the quarterfinals for the program's 500th all-time victory in what was the 50th season of Bucknell women's tennis.
• Seniors Tyne Miller, Kate Novak and Madi Sebulsky are serving as team captains this season.
• Head coach Tammy Cecchini is in her fifth year leading the Bison. She owns a 36-31 record since arriving in Lewisburg.

Scouting Findlay
• Findlay enters the weekend 0-1 after falling 4-3 to Northwestern Ohio in its first dual match last Saturday. The Oilers have also participated in the Hillsdale Invite and the ITA Regionals.
• The Oilers finished the 2022-23 season 18-6 (7-1 G-MAC) and captured the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Tournament Championship, earning an automatic berth to the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional.
• Bucknell took on the Oilers in February of last season and fell 4-2 on the road. Anna Lajos and Abby Platt earned singles wins on courts two and three, respectively, but Findlay swept the doubles point and captured wins on courts one, five and six.
Scouting Ferris State
• Ferris State also opens dual play this weekend and has competed at the Davenport Tournament and the ITA Regionals.
• Ferris State went 8-11 (2-5 GLIAC) in 2022-23 and is just two seasons removed from a 16-2 (8-0) campaign.
• Bucknell fell 4-1 to the Bulldogs last October. The Bison swept the doubles point but lost four straight in singles.

• Bucknell resumes play on Saturday, Jan. 20 when it opens its Patriot League schedule against Boston U.
