- Last weekend, the Bison played a road game against Patriot League foe American. Bucknell lost a heartbreaking 2-1 defeat, as American won the shootout 3-2. The Bison fell to 5-8 overall and 1-3 in PL play. Goalkeeper Sarah Althouse collected 17 saves in the cage, the highest total recorded by a Bison goalie since Clara McCormick stopped 13 Penn State shots on Oct. 9, 2021.Â

- Bucknell finished 5-13 overall and 3-3 in Patriot League play in the 2022 season and earned a spot in the Patriot League Tournament for the 15th consecutive season. The Bison fell 2-1 to Boston University in the Patriot League semifinals.Â
- The narrow loss to Boston University capped a notable trend in the 2022 season, where the Orange & Blue lost eight games by one goal margin, including a 2-1 heartbreaker to #9 Louisville. The pattern has continued with six 2-1 losses to American, Boston U., Lafayette, Ohio State, #12 Penn State, and Temple this season.
- Head coach Kelsey Kolojejchick enters her second season in Lewisburg. With the victory over Ball State, Kolojejchick moved into eighth place in Bucknell history.Â
- Bucknell was projected to finish third in the Patriot League preseason poll. American was slotted for first, and Colgate was picked to finish last.Â
- Lily Neilson leads the Bison with seven goals and is in first place in the conference. She also ranks first in game-winning shots (4).Â
- Neilson has 36 career goals, which places her third in Bucknell history.Â
- Neilson has won two PL Offensive Player of the Week awards in 2023 (Sept. 4 & 25).
- Super substitute Zoe Carlson-Pietraszek has sparked the offense with five goals. She ranks tied for sixth in the PL for the stat.Â
- Miami is 9-6 on the season and 4-1 in MAC play. The RedHawks commenced the 2023 campaign with two wins in the Golden Bear State, defeating Cal and UC Davis. They went 0-2 against BIG 10 competition (Indiana & Maryland). Miami played three ACC teams, beating Wake Forest and losing to Louisville and Virginia. They defeated Saint Francis University and lost to Brown. The RedHawks eliminated MAC foes App State, Bellarmine, Longwood, and Ohio by a combined score of 15-3. They have played one Patriot League foe in American, winning 2-1. They recently lost to MAC rival Kent State, 2-1.
- The RedHawks went 14-8 overall last season and 6-1 in conference play to win the regular season title. They defeated App State 3-1 in the MAC Championship Game. The RedHawks made a NCAA tournament run, beating Rider before losing to Northwestern in overtime.Â
- Miami (OH) was projected to finish first in the seven-team MAC. Bucknell already defeated the projected second-place team in Kent State this season. Â
- Claudia Negrete Garcia leads the RedHawks with eight goals and 19 points. Â
- Inako Puzo enters his 13th season as Miami's head coach. He has a career record of 151-114 and a sparkling 68-17 mark in conference play.Â
- This is the first-ever clash between the two teams. Miami is the second opponent on the 2023 Bison schedule that is fresh. Wagner was also novel, and Bucknell won 2-0.Â
- The Bison stay home at Holmes Stadium to play league foe Lehigh in a White-Out game on Friday at 7 p.m.Â
