Women's Track & Field to Hold Bison Open

LEWISBURG, Pa.- Riding high after a dominant victory at the Gulden Invitational, the Bucknell Bison women's track & field team is set to host the annual Bison Open. The Bison are looking to sharpen their skills for the upcoming championships.

"This is one of those weekends in which there is a different mission for many different athletes," said head coach Kevin Donner. "We have some of our better people resting, and others might be doing a secondary event. The rust-busting is now over after three weeks of practice and a couple of meets, so for this week and the next three weeks, we will focus on hitting fast times on the track and hitting far and high marks in the field events. We will be trying to set ourselves up for the championship meets."

Last Time Out
- The Bison women scored 190 points, 81 more than second-place Towson.Â
- Meghan Quinn placed third (7.73) in the 60m dash and earned herself ECAC qualification. In the 200m dash, Quinn not also earned ECAC qualification but her time of 25.00 set a new personal best and is now the seventh best in Bucknell history. It was also the second-best time of the event.
- Caryn Rippey posted the best placement and clinched ECAC qualification in the Mile Run with a time of 5:01.67.
- Karen Hull won gold and clinched ECAC qualification in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.80. It was just 0.06 seconds off her personal best time of 8.74. Hull also participated in the high jump. She leaped to a mark of 5-06.50. For those performances, Hull won Bison of the Week on Jan. 23.Â
- In the shot put, Siobhan O'Sullivan, threw for the meet's best result and earned ECAC qualification with a mighty toss of 45-01.50.
