US National Champion Evelyn Bliss Achieves Patriot League Record with Fourth Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week Award

LEWISBURG, Pa.- US National Champion Evelyn Bliss added another milestone to her already impressive collection by tying the Patriot League season record for Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week with her fourth such honor, as announced Tuesday by the conference office. Bliss earned the laurel after smashing Big 10 opposition at Maryland's Kehoe Twilight.Â
The feat has only been accomplished by two other Patriot League athletes: Ashley Harbin (Lafayette) in 2008 and Emily Fink (Army) in 2025.
The Bison All-American, for the fourth time in 2026, smashed long standing facility and meet records en route to another victory. Bliss threw 55.93m (183-6) in her second attempt to dismantle Ann Krouse's previous record throw of 166-8 in 2007.Â
Bliss would have thrown even farther if not for a strict three throw quota. The strategy was for the junior to win the event and break the records while staying fresh and injury free before the incoming Patriot League Outdoor Championships. The plan worked to perfection.Â
Bliss has now established four new facility and meet marks at Williamsburg (William & Mary/Colonial Relays), Lewisburg (Bucknell/Bison Outdoor Classic), Philadelphia (Penn/Penn Relays), and College Park (Maryland/Kehoe Twilight) in 2026.Â
She remains first in the NCAA and fifth in the world with her 61.34m (201-3) throw at the Bison Outdoor Classic.
Bucknell heads to the Patriot League Outdoor Championships, hosted by Navy, on May 15-16.
