Hull and Quinn Lead the Way on Day One of the Bison Open

LEWISBURG, Pa.- The Bucknell Bison women's track & field team completed day one of the Bison Open with successful results. For the second weekend in a row, Bucknell has remained in home territory.Â

"It was a very nice day one highlighted by Quinn's great race in the 200 finishing 2nd in 24.73, and our 1-2-3-6 sweep in the 60 hurdles with Hull, Fullman, Grubb, and Bourgeois respectively," said Head Coach Kevin Donner. "Our all-freshmen team of Grace Vives, Allison Cooke, Lauren Shaffer, and Caryn Rippey ran great to win the DMR and our two pentathletes Abigail Dunne and Sarah Durkan both improved on their December marks, with 6th and 7th place overall finishes with 2874 points and 2851 points respectively."
Meghan Quinn and Karen Hull led the way for the Bison. Quinn earned second place in the 200m Dash by running a 24.73 in the event. That time garnered her ECAC qualification in the event.  Additionally, it is now the fourth-best time in Bucknell history. Reigning Bison of the Week Karen Hull placed first in the 60m Hurdles with her time of 8.96.Â
The Bucknell "A" Team of Grace Vives, Alison Cooke, Lauren Shaffer, and Caryn Rippey finished first in the Distance Medley. Their time of 12:23.82 was nearly 12 seconds better than the second-place quartet.Â
Elizabeth Bryant and Jennifer Scott tied for third place in the pole vault with a clearance of 11-06.25.Â
Siobhan O'Sullivan threw the second-best toss (43-01.50)Â in the Shot Put.
In the Pentathlon, Abigail Dunne posted the best Bison score (2874).
