
Women's Track & Field Wins the Gulden Invitational; Men Finish Second

LEWISBURG, Pa.- The Bucknell Bison track and field teams competed at the Gulden Invitational on Saturday. It was a rare scoring meet, and the men's team earned second while the women's team defended Gerhard Fieldhouse and won first place.

Women's Results
Meghan Quinn placed third (7.73) in the 60m dash and earned her ECAC qualification.
In the 200m dash, Quinn not also earned ECAC qualification but her time of 25.00 set a new personal best and is now the seventh best in Bucknell history. It was also the second-best time of the event.
Bridget Lalonde recorded the best Bucknell time (58.31) in the 400m dash to place second in Section Seven of the event.
Abby Paczewski posted the finest Bucknell result (2:21.72) of the event. Her finish allowed her to finish first in Section Two of the event.
Eva Lindner finished second (3:08.24) in the 1000m run.
Caryn Rippey posted the best placement and clinched ECAC qualification in the Mile Run with a time of 5:01.67.
In the 3000m run, Lauren Joyce finished sixth (11:06.17).
Meghan Smith earned third in the 5000m run with a time of 18:47.67.
Karen Hull won gold and clinched ECAC qualification in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.80. It was just 0.06 seconds off her personal best time of 8.74.
The 4x400m Relay Bucknell "A" Team of Ella Boback, Mikayla Horvath, Valerie Fischer, and Hanna Davis recorded a time of 4:12.01 to finish fifth among the "A" quartets.
In the 4x800m relay, the Bison "A" Team of Caryn Rippey, Meredith Haberfield, Hailey Tabar, and Abby Paczewski won first thanks to their time of 9:44.11.
Karen Hull brought home the gold as well in the high jump. She leaped to a mark of 5-06.50.
Jennifer Scott and Anna Kender tied for first in the pole vault. Both athletes vaulted for a mark of 11-06.25.
Lila Gaughan recorded the best Bucknell mark in the long jump with a measurement of 17-06.25.
In the triple jump, Lexi Gray posted the best Bucknell result with a mark of 36-07.75.
In the shot put, Siobhan O'Sullivan threw for the meet's best result and earned ECAC qualification with a mighty toss of 45-01.50.
Madison McGloin, in the weight throw, tossed a distance of 49-05.75 to pace all the Bucknell throwers.
"Our women's team has a lot of depth, and this type of scored meet is right in our wheelhouse," said Coach Kevin Donner. "We competed hard in all the event areas, and I was happy with the results. It is great preparation for a league championship meet which is five weeks from now."
Men's Results
In the 60m dash, Brandon Foust finished fourth with a time of 6.92. He earned an IC4A qualification and was only 0.01 seconds away from his personal best time.
Brandon Foust earned an IC4A qualification for another event, the 200m dash, by finishing with the second-best time of 22.46.
Gardy Philogene finished with the best Bucknell result in the 400m dash with a time of 51.87.
In the 800m run, Colby Belczyk obtained first place and IC4A qualification with his time of 1:55.39.
Zachary Jelinek finished second (2:33.86) in the 1000m run.
Max Lagunoff submitted the best Bucknell result in the mile run with his time of 4:23.08.
Henry Didden finished third in the 3000m run with a mark of 8:47.34.
In the 5000m run, Grayson Crockett finished third with a time of 15:15.57.
Brian Scotto finished fourth (8.61) in the 60m hurdles.
For the 4x400m relay, the Bucknell "A" Team of Rayven Sample, Max Spaulding, Gardy Philogene, and Brandon Foust placed second (3:26.78) among the "A" foursomes.
In the 4x800m relay, the Bucknell "A" Team of Zachary Jelinek, Max Lagunoff, Alex Simpson, and Colby Belczyk finished second (7:56.67) and earned IC4A qualification.
Tristan An, in the high jump, won gold with his leap of 6-06.75.
Franco Perinotti had a banner day in the pole vault. He not only won first place with his vault of 16-00.75 but earned IC4A qualification and placed fifth in the Bucknell record book for the event.
In the long jump, Matt Federovich posted the best Bucknell placement with a mark of 21-06.75.
For the triple jump, Chris Sims finished fifth (44-04.75).
In the shot put, Anthony Zamarra threw the second-best event placement with a toss of 52-05.25. His heave earned him an IC4A qualification.
Bucknell had a dynamic duo in the weight throw. Both Robert Feeney and John Calisi earned IC4A qualification with their respective tosses of 58-10.00 and 57-10.25. Calisi's mark is a new personal best, which moves him into ninth all-time in the Bucknell record book.
"Although we are not happy about finishing a close second to Shippensburg, I felt our men gave it all they had, and Shippensburg is a very good program," said Donner. "We did have some guys step up, but we will need more in the future, and we will be getting a few guys back from injuries very soon. We have to clean up a few areas and continue to get a little better each week."
